I'm in the city for a few weeks - till 9th January - and would love to see anyone who fancies coming out for a drink and a chat.
It might even build up to a more serious assault on the city's nightspots. Almost considered going to a fetish night on xmas eve then thought "haaang on a minute, this isn't exactly Xmassy" - heheh.

Err...so is this basically a bit like Burning Man then, in spirit? And is it compulsory to dress as if auditioning for the canteena scene in Star Wars? Any info appreciated from anyone - the web site isn't really that informative

yeah, it's very Burning Man-ish. Mutaytor began as a Burning Man thing and is heavily involved in the burner community, and DJ Wolfie and some of the other people there are burners, so it should be burner-heavy. crazy costumes are probably not required, but will garner a lot of kudos and whatnot, and will also be a hell of a lot more fun. if you decide to go, you should glam it up and be as fun and outrageous as possible to the degree to which you feel comfortable...

Heheh- funny you should say...someone in Las Vegas just complemented my friend on his "poofy" jacket, clearly unaware of the term as it is often used in the UK (they meant "puffy" obviously). I tried to explain amiably to the person and they immediately started biting their fist in horror and apologising, and I was like "ehh, don't worry- it's quite funny, we're not insulted"
