Dude, what happened to my spam?

Okay, maybe my Outlook is broken, but I haven't gotten a single piece of unsolicited e-mail in any of my accounts for almost 48 hours. I heard that Congress passed their chunk of anti-spam legislation, but it hasn't been made law yet. Am I missing something? Or have I been blacklisted by the spam e-mail community?

Sending spam became illegal in the EU on Thursday, maybe that's slowed the flow down a little.

Out of interest, how much do you normally get? I get pretty much none, apart from the odd so-called newsletter from businesses that I have used and who have "forgotten" I ticked the "no thanks" box.

I have two e-mail accounts which are normally beset by spam, in particular one which I use to fill out any online forms which require an e-mail address. Gosh, I never really count the messages that go into that box, since most of them just get deleted, but there's generally between 35 and 40 in the "bulk mail" section, and then another 20 - 30 in the main inbox. Probably about twenty a day on the second account. In spam terms, that's actually not that much, I guess, but it was weird to have it all just stop.

I guess they were all coming from the EU. It was the average stuff, penis enlargement, naked celebrity offers, loan consolidation, credit line, blah blah blah. No big, really. The silence was just deafening.

Thanks Keggers...Thank you very much. If I can manage to get that out of my head before work, I won't have to hang you off the mezzanine and spam ya.

Or is that make you spam? ..or into spam? Either way...

I have a hotmail account that I use specifically for signing up for things, so it's attacked by up to 50 spam mails a day. the past three days or so, there's been almost nothing, maybe one or two daily. I thought it was just me.

Oh thank god. Someone else. Wanna go hide under a coffee table?

Oh, the joys of having an email address that has lasted nearly 10 years. Minimum of 200 spams a day. NEVER post to a newsgroup. You did know that they're all on google. No matter how long ago it was...

'Sounds like a beautiful, miraculous day! Enjoy it, it won't last long before you're snowed under with lovely spam again, I'm sure.

I've noticed the same, on my main address. It never got a lot - maybe 10 a day - but now nothing at all. It's a bit strange!

Wow, I just looked at hotmail, and same there. Well, I had 13, but compared to the 70 or so that I'd normally get.... wow.

I can tell you exactly where all the spam's going. Judging by the unusual amount of it that my filter caught over the weekend, I'm getting it all.

Maybe your spammer was caught under the new laws.

I also am currently dealing with a lackage of spam. It's a bit odd.

Spamhaus, you say? Perhaps Haus has been stopping spam froming being sent to everyone. I wonder how Kegboy will get his jollies now?

Im still getting it thru on my aol email, about 7 a day or so, but my hotmail has gone down from about 300 every time i check to 55.

Can we throw spam at them?

What ever happened to the guy who was spamming up here with him christian book or something on every forum, that Bio K9 posted pics of spam up to? Did he run away forever like he said he would, or did he stick around like someone told him he should?
