So then On-Line radio stations, what's good out there. I find myself working late with access to a big fat old internet connection and need to listen to some decent tunes.
I've checked out the BBC, Resonance FM and XFM but what else is out there?

There's a few other threads for this, but what the hell.

WFMU is the world's greatest free-form radio station. Be sure to check the archives to find shows which are best suited to your tastes and interests.

Global Pop Conspiracy is a 24 hour streaming progressive integrationist pop station.

Spinner seems to - oh. Well, when it was Spinner, rather than "Radio@Netscape Plus", it had about ten squillion channels one could swap between easily, some of them... well, rather good. I'd hope it's still more or less the same now despite being engulfed by Netscape...

I was also going to suggest WFMU. Utter joy, especially for adding free-jazz-noise freakouts to the office ambience. The only thing with WFMU is that the Jewish breakfast show interrupts the more unusual stuff for two hours in what is my lunchtime...

Haha! There's not a gentile alive who likes JM in the AM!

That show is an oddity - it has nothing to do with the rest of the station's programming, and is actually run almost as a separate operation. It has an ENORMOUS base of loyal and devoutly religious fans, many of whom tend to be very wealthy and donate VERY generously, insuring that the show will be on for pretty much forever. There is almost zero crossover in JM In The AM and general WFMU audiences, so when they give out the gifts after the pledge drive, they have to give all of the JM fans completely different merchandise.

I guess you could always just listen to the archives while JM is on.

Cheers guys, specially for Radio Paradise.

I've also just found http://www.mpegradio.com/ which has 8-9 streams of a single genre (Various, Trance, Ambient, Rock, Goth, Dubstation, Jazz, 80's, Classical and Techno) Good mix of music and I like the fact I can flick between the streams if one gets dull.

Thought I'd give this thread a bump and see what other streaming radio folks have discovered over the past couple of years.

A couple of my favorites:
This Is Corrosion - industrial/goth/electronica
Radio 1190 - the local college radio (they've played grant before, and are therefore worthy)

I also discovered a huge honkin' list of stations a couple of days ago, but haven't had the time to listen and find the good ones.

I listen to the KCRW simulcast for my NPR needs. Morning Becomes Eclectic, the morning music show, is excellent.

Boombastic Radio for soul, blues, R&B, latin, hip hop, jazz, reggae, ska, dub, dancehall... I can't say enough good things about this station.

Groove Salad for ambient beats.

Digital Gunfire is another great Industrial/Electronic station.

Goon Show Radio!

Mac users- get StreamRipperX.
Love StreamRipperX.

Sorry, that was a lazy post based on not reading the earlier posts...

But KCRW is very good - particularly 'morning/weekend becomes eclectic' shows.
