Who or what is the Diabolik series about? Who wrote it, why does Uncle Grant like it so much? I even spied a movie based on the series.

You can find Italian trades in most comic shops, along with Martin Mystery, etc. The film was covered on MST3K, as their last film, and was brilliant. When I was in Italy I got a trade if Diabolik then realized I don't know Italian.

But I think that Grant is really enamored by Fantomas (http://www.fantomas-lives.com/), who has a kind of forgotten cousin in Diabolik.

The movie, Danger: Diabolik, is amazing 60's and just a joy to behold. Plus, it's been MSTied, on the last episode of MST3K, which was a lot of fun to watch as well. The uniform is basically the same as that Diabolik, and he's got basically the same MO.

And let me just add that Fantomex was one of my absolute favorite New X people. His flirtation with Jean Grey was just incredible, and a great counterpoint to Scott's relations with Emma Frost. I wish Grant had developed that relationship a bit more, perhaps he will in the rest of the series.
