... so, i was reading an article on dave gorman - who i personally find really quite funny - and it mentioned 'google-whacking' ie when you type two words into the google search engine and come up with one 'unique' result ie 'search results: 1' ...

... anyone ever found one ? and if so, what was it ? i'm SO intrigued and just can't find any ... ... ...

I did, but it isn't any more: it was Mortimer Hearseburg, the name of Neil Young's hearse, apparently:

Now there's two, boo hoo.

Electronic and geological terms (me) coupled with mathspeak (Lurid A.) seem to work pretty well. Adding "aubergine" also helps thin the herd.

That was a hard one-- I thought coulomb was going to be a nonstarter. There were 3 pages of results for coulomb aubergine.

Damn! Over 1500 hits for "octopus nachos."

1200 hits for "monorail tidbits."

Then a very thrilling 23 hits on "rocketship plunger."

Finally only two hits on "antediluvian peepshows."

Then I gave up....

I don't think this is really the same thing, but nevertheless, it's amusing:

Go to Google. Type in "miserable failure," and then click the "I'm feeling lucky" button.

Weeeeee!

(I hope this hasn't already been done here. If it has been, I apologize for the repeat.)

Can you believe "exploding platypus" has only 3 hits?

"exploding tarantula" has only one...

To offically whack the google do the two words have to be in quotes (which is easier) or sans quotes and still get one listing? With quotes I found "barreling monkey" to get only one, but I'm fairly convinced you can't use 'monkey' and any other word without quotes and get only one response.

monkey spatchcocks returns only three responses. I defy anyone to beat that.

I hereby motion that, should anyone find a googlewhack with 'monkey' as one of the words, it be thenceforth referred to as a 'googlespank'. Ahem.

hang on a minute..

Neil Young has a hearse?
And it has a name?

Well you learn something new every day.

Sorry, monkey uniformizability ain't a whack. Both words must be acceptable to google in that they have to be listed by dictionary.com. This means they must be underlined in the blue bar above the search results.

Neither is Mortimer Hearseburg.

Does it count as a whack if there is more than one result but they are all essentially the same thing? Oligarchic stallions takes you to a couple of results, but they are both the texts of Chapter 23 of George Bush: The Unofficial Biography.

Can google whacking be used with personal names? My name- Chaz Sarathchandra -only provides the one result. Does this make me special? Or just lonely?

bitchiekittie
19:54 / 07.12.03
just so you know, that last one started out as "nipple peripherals", which I quite liked the sound of, but nada.

"lime wedgie"
"gas fanatic"

"hobbit fiasco" got me nothing, which I was also quite sad about.
