It doesn't matter how far away you are from the server, Barbelith will always give GMT +1. This may or may not be the time where you are. It doesn't lie, it's just a machine.
It gives GMT +1 because the chap looking after the server sets the server's clock to this time, or the 'Lith software adjusts local US time to give this. It may be a couple of minutes out because, whatever the "real" time the server uses, it is probably set against the chap's mobile phone or $5 watch.
GMT +1 (or BST +1) is the time in most of Europe -- perhaps a cross-reference to the "Englishness" thread is in order.
Ignatius_J Time (Radio 4 Pips Time +/- 30 secs) is now 13:30, giving a 'Lith time of 14:30-ish. Simple! |
