To Blog or not to Blog - That is the Question

It seems that since I'm going to be spending most of 2004 travelling the globe I naturally have a desire to invoke jealously in my friends by posting about my travels whilst on route. Unfortunately, I'm spoilt for choice in places to post to. I've had recommendations for both Moveable Type and Blogger, but have no experience of either.

I should think I probably need something reasonably quick and simple, since the majority of posts will come from internet cafes in various dark corners of the world, and I also need something stable. Filespace would be an advantage, but not necessary.

I know a lot of you are experienced with blogging in one form or another, so, which facility do you advise?

Movable Type is blogging software, not a blogging service, so unless you've got a handy server somewhere to install and configure it on in quick sharp time, probably not MT.

Blogger seems a better idea; note that there's always Livejournal, too, which is certainly quick and simple, possibly even more so than Blogger, and will give you a few features like commenting which Blogger doesn't provide. You need a code but you only have to say the word here and you'll get one. I'd probably recommend that for someone who wants to set up a quick blog.

Bah. Damnable HTML goblins and their ironic timing. Thanks, Fridge. Will check LiveJournal out.
