It does indeed. I assume you can just turn up? I might be up for this on Friday night, perhaps we could meet somewhere nearby first...

Marvellous.

Yeah I think you just turn up, I think there might be a password for the door (which I've been promised wont be Fidelio)..

I'm actually not working Friday so I'd be up for drinks before hand.

I'm hoping it'll be good and the £5 entrance is for the whole time so you can disappear and come back later (for the rite for example).

I think I'll come along to this. Where do you want to meet up beforehand?

Well Old Street tube is only 3 stops away from Holborn so how about the Princess Louise? Cheap and central right?

I'll be there, though possibly at da venue rather than in the Louise first, we'll see...

Don't really see the point of meeting somewhere that's a tube ride away from the venue, not when the area itself is hardly short of places to meet... How about the Foundry?

Foundry sounds good, and it's ages since we been there.

To answer some of the above questions, yeah, it's just turn up, and as far as I know, yeah, the £5 entrance is for the whole time so you can disappear and come back later (for the rite for example).

Don't blame me I'm from Scotland! If The Foundry is at Old Street then that'll be fine and dandy Sandy.

You come out of the tube and then walk down some road, I think I remember its the place that smells like a squat with hanging dolls right?

I think that was one of my first Barbemeet places.

Awwww Precious Memories

It is indeed down a street, Bear, ahem,
more specifically, it's here. And as for it smelling like a squat, that's because it is a squat. Well, not really, it's owned by Bill Drummond, but the effect is much the same. I can't recall which exit to take from Old St... it's one on the right, though, and I seem to recall it lies towards the Holiday Inn, non?

exit 2'll get you onto Old Street itself. then just walk towards the holiday inn/away from the roundabout... foundry's dead easy.

can you turn up anytime? ie, if i'm there at all it'll be post pub....

Anytime anyway! Do the special knock on the door and the special handshake and you'll be fine.

Am I the only one reading the thread title as Black Magick Poetry?

well, that was alot of fun. completely failed to meet up with any Barbies, but bumped completely randomly into some mates from Brighton, talked and wandered around... there was, inevitably some awful performance poetry. BUT

Some *bloody great* spoken word/performance stuff. wicked. reminded me how much i like hearing human voices speaking/reading. some good-natured heckling:

"compere(black dreadlocked guy): so when i ask you if you're having a good time, i want you all to shout back Yes Rastaman

*we dutifully comply*

compere: I've always wanted to hear a bunch of middle-class white people say that.

me(raising hand): Oi...

compere grins and 'apologises'"

and probably the shiniest squat i've ever seen. better than most of my friends' rental homes *g*

Tho, I have had very little sleep, so be gentle with me if you see me in the pub this afternoon.
