Over in the Kill Bill thread I just discovered that that rockin Japanese girl band that played the House of Blue Leaves is a real band called The 5.6.7.8's. And Cameron has pointed me to this thread.

I never imagined that they'd have such an extensive discography! Where do I start? What are the best songs? What do you recommend?

I need to narrow this song list down a bit.

Er.. I don't know much about them at all (yet).. except that they're great. The one track I've got by them, 'Bomb the Twist', is amazing - the best over-enthusiastic Japanese rockabilly nuttiness I've heard this side of Guitar Wolf, with similarly lung-destroying yelled vocals..

I'd very much like to get my hands on some of this, too (not to be at all predictable in my taste for fun Japanese music). There's usually quite a lot of results for this kind of thing CD shopping on ebay, so I'll have a look (and trounce you fuckers at auction).

I checked ebay and either I'm crap at looking or they've got nothing.

Also, I tried to download a few songs and there wasn't enough people online with this stuff... grrr.

If you go to killbill2.net and click on rare music you can get the 5,6,7,8's doing "I'm blue" along with lots of other music from kill bill that is not on the soundtrack cd.

If you want to order some from your local record emporium and don't know where to start tell them to get in touch with a company called 'F minor'. We're importing a lot of their stuff from the US at the moment including their soon to be released christmas single.

I seem to recall hearing about the 5.6.7.8's touring way back when with an Austin band called the 1-4-5s. It was called the 1-4-5-6-7-8 Tour, of course.
