*hastily* My g/f ripped the page out to show me because it was so funny, I only ever read the problem pages and sex quiz in Cosmo waiting at the dentists, I swear..
*holds hands to temples* "I see... I see.. I see Pepperoni in your future.."
Tarot cards don't do much else than force you to pick apart events one by one and get you to see things in a different way
Gotta disagree there, if you get the Devil, the Tower and Ruin (10 swords) coming up then it's difficult to make that 'you'll get a better job', y'know?
I agree there is a lot of 'Rorshasch' effect in divination, and a lot of cold reading (which is what Cosmo describes) but it's not just that.
I'm a Tarot reader, and I don't subscribe to the 'Gift' theory, it's a skill you develop that anyone can learn. I think it can act as a psychological mirror (as Chesed describes) but that above and beyond that there is magic involved in the cards themselves, I've seen too many accurate readings to believe in coincidence.
I once read for a guy I didn't know, who told me nothing, and divined he was an Amnesiac. Is that just re-examining stuff?
I'm not going to try Pizzamancy anytime soon, but I'm glad that this stuff is out there in the mainstream- I'd rather magic were ridiculed than feared. |
