Free CPR courses courtesy of the NHS and London Ambulance.

Stuff worth knowing, basically.

Cool! I'm going to find out more about this.
My grandpa is a CBE (or OBE? I get them mixed up) for his work with the Scottish ambulance service. I've always felt terrible that I know absolutely nothing about first aid, but I faint at the sight of blood (spectacularly so - I go out like a light, faint and bounce off the floor). So a course like this sounds ideal - stuff I can cope with.

My dad is a cpr/lifesaving instructor and as such, made us kids learn it all.
I must say it has come in handy on several occasions where lifesaving was in order: once
with a little old man involved in a bad car accident who I did cpr on and kept him going
til the ambulance arrived. Another occasion involved an 18 month old baby having a
seizure( post MMR vaccine). Out of about 30 people present, I was the only person with
a clue what to do thanks to my Dad. I got a box of chocolates for that one. Another time
I looked after a woman who had just been hit by a car until paramedics could get thru massive
traffic to take care of her. Even once they got there, they still asked me to stay and help because
they had to get her leg out of her ear before they could put her on a stretcher.

Anyway, my hero stories aside, go learn CPR! It is soooo handy!
