As Barbelith's resident astronomer I point you to a thread in the magick detailing this spectacular eclipse tomorrow night (Saturday/Sunday 8/9th November) if you are in the northern hemisphere.
Look at the sky and go 'Oooh!'

Not really necessary, but for super-ease-of-viewing, this is the thread.

V. cool, will definitely be watching...

Turns out loads of astrologers think it's the opening of human consciousness to infinity or somesuch, as long as you count a 'centaur' as a planet and not a comet.

Hell, I've had such a good week since a Hallowe'en gig spontaneously turned into a big shamanic trance (in f'ing Fife, no less!) that I'm wide open for tomorrow night. Anyone able to suggest a good wine to go with the event?

Ah, it was pretty. It looked like Tony Blair's grin. But it was cold so I didn't stay outside too long.

Couldn't see Mars outside our office, but the Cheshire Cat certainly looked happy!

Ahhh, that was pretty. We were coming back from the Forevertron and I didn't even know about it until I pointed out how pretty and yellow the just-risen moon looked and one of the girls I was with told us there was a total eclipse expected at around 7:30pm

I had a front-of-the-car view of almost the whole thing. It started around 5:30pm, and was completly in shadow by the time we stopped to get some food. We were expecting it to be out of shadow by the time we were done eating, but when we went back to the car, it was still partially covered. It only completely cleared by the time we got back home, after 9pm...
