think about flash intros is that they take up a lot of memory without offering you anything other than A) a few seconds of pretty and B) access to your site.

For many people with slow/modem connections less memory or just no desire for flash then all the do is prevent them from being able to use your site.

Of course you might not want anyone without a fast computer and good connection l;ooking at your site...

What Sleaze said. Also, if you want to be stylish and up to the minute, then flash intros are so 2001. Seriously. I'd forget about it and just make snappy site design. That way you look cool whilst putting your content over, rather than looking cool to the people who haven't given up waiting for an .swf file to download.

Ok, what I need is something that *looks cool* then. I'm not even sure what I want would be considered flash. I just wanna be able to put the mouse over these little circle things and have them color themselves and make weird sounds and have this trigger text display and all that. What's the name for this? Be nice. I'm young!

You can do most of that button stuff without Flash. You can use DHTML or, in some cases, just CSS. I hate Flash except as a means of writing silly games and producing kitten videos.

I'm afraid I can't help you with site stuff though because I have no home net access any more.
