Happy pagan new year all you lovely people, hope you all have a great time and go to parties!
Anybody doing any workings emphasising the new year? I am, I have a new phase of life to enter, after a kicking party I'm going to try something out. I may try out some halloween magick before that (a la the Black and Orange thread) but the old fashioned stuff needs doing I reckon. If something weird doesn't happen tonight, when will it?
Happy Samhain again!

New year=rebirth....

About a month ago things started going really well for me, for the first time in my life, really. So, I wonder, what significance-if any-this new year will have?

My favourite holiday

Have a lovely Day of the Dead everyone. May all those who have died in the past year move swiftly on to the afterlife.

Just popping up ( slightly late) to wish everyone a Happy Hindoo New Year....

so many traditions have this as their rebirth/renewal period, has always made alot more sense to me than Jan1...

Let your regrets die with the passing year and may the new year bring new oportunities, joy, experiences and hopefully peace.
Merry Samhain everyone!

Yep, just carved a pumpkin to fulfill the mundane, common culture element of tonight. Tonight, witching hour, when the veil is thinest between the worlds - working shall ensue.

YaY Dead!

I was at party last night and did a bunch of Tarot readings for people. Was fun!

Can anyone tell me (read: spell phonetically) the correct pronunciation of "Samhain"? I know it is nothing like it looks because it is celtic (guessing, no nothing about that).

thanx

Are you located in the American Midwest? There was a positively vicious vibe fucking up my rythm last night, really horrorshow. Wondering if it was related.

Deadwings, I didn't notice anything, but I was really, really distracted last night. So I could have easily missed it. It was cold as fuck last night, though.

Did you try anything to drive it off, Deadwings? Evil Hunting is a proper Halloween tradition if there ever was one.

if the midwest thing is directed at me, answer's no the trouble is a bit more internal/personal, not something 'out there'.

i think Samhain is 'sao-wayne' or something like that.

Very... bland evening. Perhaps I'm only saying that because there was a certian lack of the adventure that I have come to associate with Samhain. Minor ritual, good company...

In the midwest myself.

SOW-win. I was "taught " Irish in school and I reckon that's a pretty accurate phonetic rendition but pronounciation probably varies slightly according to dialect and region.

Had a blast at Samhain - the one pagan festival the Christian patriarchy just couldn't cover up. I mean, I know that many folks still celebrate May eve and so on, but Samhain is the only one that's still celebrated by the wider Judaeo-Christian public. It's just too primal to kill. I hope everyone had a great time.

Thank you SlinkyVB!

Abydoss: I found a Sekhmet statue this year. It actually looks like Sekhmet-Hathor. I am diggin' it too.
