...cuz the wheels are rolling down.

In the inbox this morning:
quote:On June 10th of this year, Salvia divinorum is going to be placed on schedule 9 in the country of Australia... This scheduling will place it in the same catagory as the drug Heroin.
It is obvious that salvia has no potential for abuse or addiction and therefore this new law is really going too far in the opinon of many.
Perhaps everyone could spread the word about this and even contact the Australian Government to re-consider this outrageous law against a simple herb such as Salvia.
Japan has made a similar law over a year ago.
It leads one to wonder what country is next, could it be us in the US?
We seriously hope not.
And as one last note to those living in australia, we will give all who purchase salvia from us from Australia a 25% discount on the herb since this may be the last time you may ever see this most rare and important herb. And to all others, we really do wish you would spread the word of the outragous new law and how it is without a legitimate cause restricting the freedom of Autstralian citizens, please spread this message on the internet, and agian, please send Australian government letters and such asking them to reconsider this new law.
Much thanks.
This message is directly from the owners of (LER), please also visit us at www.ethnobotany.com
Sincerely:
Luis Riesgo.

...but in the meantime it's still available via the internet, mail order, and some guy with a 'magic herb' stall in Camden...

I've heard nothing but good reviews about this stuff, has anyone here tried it?

It's still (slowly) being outlawed, according to PhysOrg. State by state.

What concerns me more, in a way, is the garish packaging in that article's illustration.

I mean, if that's how it's being sold, then no wonder.

This is quite disturbing. I'd love to know what the reasoning behind this is.

I tried it in joint form a couple of years ago (just a test dose), on a windy, grey afternoon on Brighton beach. After a few minutes I was thinking “naah, this is doing fuck all”. But then my ability to visualise things suddenly seemed to get much clearer and more intense, and I felt I had some insights into how Barbara Ellen (a woman who writes a column in the Guardian) ought to change her life for the better (I had been thinking of her for some reason – god knows). Maybe I should write to her with my ideas. Anyway, I couldn’t report more than a nice slightly mysterious, buzzy feeling, but that was from taking very little – I’d love to try a proper dose.
