This days we've got soundtrack releases from every major motion picture. But there are some gems we listen only in the movie theatre, or at home, and never hear again outside the context of the film.
For instance, I spent a few hours looking on the net if I could find the soundtrack for Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal, by Eric Nordgren, but I could find nothing.
I suppose this happens all the time mainly in independent movies, and I would go as far to suggest that some people rip the entire soundtrack from the movie DVD.
Any tips? Is there any soundrack you would like to see released?

Inexperience can be embarrassing. Can someone move this to the music forum?

I know what you mean; I have been looking for the soundtrack to Tarkovsky's Solaris and Stalker (both soundtracks composed by Artemyev) and both are either deleted (Solaris) or have never been actually released in soundtrack form to the best of my knowledge. Or, in a completely different tip I am still looking for the score to Doug Lyman's "Go" (released in 1999); there was an OST released but it was just some songs off the movie... Tips, anyone?

Y'know, I've been obsessed with finding a soundtrack to "My New Gun," which should be easy because it was put out by a freakin' record company -- IRS records! And yet, impossible to find. The end credits have either Syd Straw or else Shawn Colvin singing "(That's When I Reached For) My Revolver," which I can't find on any of either of their albums.

I may have to find a copy of the film and hook the VCR up to the PC. God bless RCA cables.

Original cast recording of True Stories? I can find the Talking Heads record, and I can find the incedental music, but dammit I want John Goodman doing "People Like Us."

OSTs of Rota's scores for Fellini. Tons of "Fellini Suites done by the Royal Moldavian Womens' Orchestra" but no actual soundtracks.

I never could find a soundtrack for Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, despite the fact that the soundtrack was supposed to be a selling point for the picture, I think the box exclaims "featuring songs by blah blah!".

Yes, Shmendrick. True Stories has that excellent version of Papa Legba that I really want. Someone find it and give it to me.

Leonard Rosenmans score for Rebel Without a Cause. Very hep. Very deleted, as far as I can tell.
