Mark Mothersbaugh is a brilliant composer of film and cartoon music. Peewee's Playhouse, Four Rooms, Dawson's Creek, all of Wes Anderson's films so far, and metric tons of others. I don't think Rugrats is the sole source of income for ole man Mark.
I read, years ago in a written interview, that Mark and the boys would put sublimial messages in any commercial jingles they were paid to compose! All about devolution!!!
