This morning I bought a new phone on the internet from OneTel.

(A Nokia 3510i if you're interested)

This afternoon, less then six hours later, my Electronics and Photo Reccomendations on Amazon were ALL accessories for the Nokia 3510i.

I have NEVER looked at mobile phones or accessories on Amazon, of any type.

How fucking sinister is that?

A phone call/letter of complaint to OneTel would seem to be in order equiring how Amazon got hold of the information followed by even stronger letters of complaint and notification to the consumer press (such as WHICH? magazine in the UK) should it be the case that One Tel has sold or passed on information on your purchasing to third parties without your permission...

Super sinister indeed.

I would also contact Amazon and ask them how they got the information as they are far more likely to admit to buying the information than One Tel will be about selling it.

When you bought the phone did you tick all the appropriate boxes regarding the handling of your details?
