Hocking equipment

As much as I hate the idea, I may have to sell one of my guitars. I need money and to be perfectly honest, I have more guitars than I need (if you tell them I said that, I'll tie a dead dog on a leash to your bumber).

It's a Epiphone Casino in good condition with a kickass vibrato setup. Tobacco sunburst. Two P90 pickups with a toggle switch that needs to be replaced. My question is this: what's the best way to get the most money out of it (I swear to god, if you say "start a band, dumbass" I'll kill you)? The shop I bought it from, whom I've got a strange deal with in my favor if I sell it back to them. But that's all the way in Nashville, and besides, you can't trust professional musicians in Nashville.

So do I take it to one of those gigantic places like Thoroughbred, Sam Ash or Mars? A slightly smaller place not corprate owned? Sell it to some kid with wealthy albeit overly-trusting parents for more than it's worth? *gasp* Pawnshop? I was hoping it wouldn't come to that.

Try selling to a private party, any shop is going to give you less money just because they have to make money by reselling it.

I always buy and sell equipment through Sound on Sound reader ads...

I don't know if you're in the UK, if you're not it may not be very useful.

the Sound on Sound ads are great for finding stuff, but sadly you have to subscribe to their website and, like, pay, in order to actually place an ad..

I'm so addicted to porn-tastic muso tech descriptions these days that I have to restrain myself from reading this sort of thing for fun..
