BBC News 24 is doing a TV report in the next day or so on what it considers the three most widespread types of scam in Britain today, one of which is the issue of spam text messages. As you are probably aware, typically such text messages invite you to call a premium rate telephone number in order to collect "£1,000 cash or a £1450 holiday" (of course there are many variations on this typical wording - "£300 of cds" etc etc).
The programme makers would like to interview one or two members of the public on the programme to hear about their experiences. If you would be interested in doing this and can meet the following criteria then you should contact the programme makers directly (see below). The programme makers would like to be contacted by members of the public who:
1) can be interviewed in London tomorrow Friday 24th or possibly Monday 27th October
2) have received a text message of the type mentioned above AND who have responded to it in any way (by calling the number, and/or sending away for the 'free holiday' etc etc).
3) believe they would be reasonably comfortable talking in front of a camera
