Below the abyss, the supernal triad is mirrored. As above, so below. So then does Chesed represent the same outpouring of energy seen in Chockmah, but as realized within the spiritual nature of man rather than the absolute nature of the divine. The attributions applied to the divine before are applied to the spirit of man instead.

Giving, mercy, generosity, compliance, lack of resistence, fellowship, peace, enjoyment of the moment, Slack (praise Bob!), harmony, relaxation, bliss.

In Chesed do we allow things to be, to enjoy their being, experience the joy of the moment, and accept the prompting and guiding of other forces. Syncronicity is the guiding force, one need only follow.

A balance is maintained between Chesed, Gebura, and Tipharet. In Tipharet is the ego dissolved and the process of its dissolution and refinement, in Gebura brought to the height of its limiting power, and in Chesed is it absent entirely. These three are also represented by the primary colors, Chesed being blue.

Chesed is also called Gedullah, which means greatness. There are a couple of inferences here. For one, being open to the divine means one is filled with the divine, and thus becomes great, exaulted. This results in the other inference of kinglyness (Jupiter being the planet attributed to Chesed). Generosity is considered a princely virtue, so the vision is one of a benevolent king.

Another interpretation is of the right-hand or theurgic arm of the magickian. One becomming one with their True Will in Chockmah, ruled by their divine self rather than the mortal ego. Here also is the ecstatic mystical experience.

Qlippoth: emptyness. In refusing to be open, one is not filled with divine power, and remains an empty shell. One does not give because one has nothing to give. One is left powerless, weak.

Chesed, Mercy. Gedulah, Love. It is the first coherence of force into form as it is the first sphere below the Abyss. It is the pinnacle of manifestation, all other Sephira below the Abyss emerge from it's source. It is the Sphere of the Masters and the source of all rulership over form.

Chesed is the Receptive or Cohesive Intelligence. The supernals are refracted through Daath (The Prism) and into Chesed where they condense into the first subtle forms. But note the duality that Chesed exists in the Pillar of Force while simultaneously establishing the first condensations of Form. All workings on the Tree must be aware of these inherent paradoxes.

Chokmah - Force
Binah - the idea of Form
Daath - the process of transmutation into Form
Chesed - the first coherence of Force into Form

The experience of this sphere is as Gedulah, the Vision of Love, the benevolent throned king (Jupiter). This is the divine will of Kether stepping in to Creation. "Love is the Law, Love under Will". Thus the seed of Nature is Love, the pure light of God/Jah/AL gazing at Life.

The god name is El or AL. Aleph Lamed. The ox and the ox goad - Force under the control of Form. Love under Will.

The Qliphoth is seen in all lust for rulership.
