personally, I buy myself a nice bottle of Makers Mark single batch whiskey. excellent stuff.

I mean, c'mon, a garden gnome has to fill his flask with something to make the time pass in this god-fer-saken dirt hole I work in.

besides, by the time the missus gets done with me paycheck, there is very little left for me to enjoy.

*shakes porcelain fist at the sky*

damnable bills!

some green.
a little of 'dat ting', you know, fa'mi'pipe.

and then loads of cheap CDs and books. you just cant beat quantity and quality, so heading to the nearest Fopp usually works. plus, they let you retuyrm all the shit ones. JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK THEY ARE SHIT. which makes me happy.

um.
maybe a present for someone to remind them i think of them occasionally with no prompting. a small thing, a token. like a bottle or a bunch of something.

oh, and FOOD.

a good big hefty shop that will see me into the winter of skintness that is surely to follow such a wealthy summer.

thats my list.
yes it is lame.

I buy drinks for Keggers and seem to really enjoy that. Maybe you'd like to try that too.

Lovely local microbrews which aren't outrageously expensive, and then there's always that tequila weakness that I have been known to have on occasion.

Run to the local comics shop to see what came in on my pull-list.

Scour wonderful used bookstores and record stores in the vicinity that have that everything and anything atmosphere.

Ingredients for whatever special dish I'm preparing (I like to set aside one night a week to REALLY cook from scratch).

That's about it lately.

Had that recently, first pay cheque in a while.

So spent some time trying to think of something that had absolutely no practical value. A pure luxury item, no food stuffs, cd's or anything that I could pass off even as a means of relaxing. A scent. Pretentious, but how pretty my wrists smell now.

Oh, and sushi. Bucketloads of sushi with Bison-grass vodka. Yum.

A new leotard,

and with any luck, I'll find some decent Doc M's with either a pic up the side, or some patterned ones.

This payday some boots- suede and flat, kind of like stylish boxing boots. I'm going to slather over them everyday until they're mine.

Usually it's clothes tbh, I just can't help myself. I see things and I need them. I need them.

Actually, I was planning on buying The New English Christian book and a can of Spam.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Beer, video games, new books, whatever new CDs are out, couple of movies, more beer, second-hand books, second-hand video games, beer, cheaper CDs, beer.

Oh, and cigarettes. Lots of cigarettes.

If anyone's figured out a way not to be skint (and I mean living on potatoes and 2-minute noodles skint) within a fortnight of receiving your monthly paycheque, feel free to let me know.

Did I mention beer?

100 dollar bag of weed and 50 cent ticket to a second-run movie theater.

Paycheck once a month?! That's bullshit. Two weeks is hard enough for me, but I find using cash as little as possible helps stretch things. Use a debit card, as there are usually no fees if you are smart about it. You may find, like I did, I make better choices with my money when I have to sign a paper or input a secret code to complete a transaction.
