OK I have to teach in a few minutes but before I do, I'd like to ask, shall we meet in one of the old standbys like the crown or the PL or (even!) the chandos, or shall we branch out a bit at an as yet unnamed venue?
You think you're going to find a nice quiet pub where we can talk to each other in London on a Friday night? Hmmm, actually I don't recall the upstairs at the Marquis of Granby being overly horrible on a Friday - and it's very close to where I work.
What about London Bridge area? George? Market Porter? (How I love thee...)
On the other hand, it HAS been a long time since I've visited the PL...
Hello, I may be able to pop by, if that's okay? But which Marquis of Granby are you talking about?? Rathbone Street, Chandos Place, or Shaftesbury Avenue?
um, yeah, can we narrow things down a bit folks, not sure if I can do tonight, i'm all snotty and have a major liverkicking planned for tomorrow, but let me know where this is 'appenin'.
Chandos Place, pretty certain. If you've not met any of us before I am stupidly tall and wear glasses and will be looking quizzically at you, probably. We'll probably try and get seats upstairs.
OK Chandos I will go to, look for me between 7 -8 and if I can't find you I'll run into the M of G and if none of you answer your phones I'll just go to every filthbeer pub in town, shall I?
Nooo, Posters, you fecking idiot, the Marquis of Granby is on Chandos Place, and is not, most explicitly not to be confused with another pub, called The Chandos, which is on one edge of Trafalger Square.
