I'm in London for 23 hours from Friday this week to Saturday. During this time I intend to do 2 things:
1) see Diamanda Galas kick merry arse at the world premiere of Deifixiones, Will and Testament - you do not know how long I've been waiting for that - down at the Royal Festival Hall, and,
2) distribute a few copies of Hypershibuya: a situationist glam sigil disguised as a visually dazzling 'poem', which I use in my (and our) ongoing battle with the forces of Boredom for the fate of reality. There's a lot more info about the project on the velvetvandal website - which I'm not going to slugline in here, guessing its name won't be rocket science for you lot - but, because I like y'all, and because I know more than a few of you live in the Smoke, a little game.
I want you to try and find a copy of my little sigil. Don't go out of your way and search for it; just try and find it in your travels around the city. Attune yourself to my consciousness, divine my whereabouts with pendulum, map, and drawing pin, whatever; try and find a copy. You'll have more chance in the area around Embankment and South Bank than elsewhere, but I will be covering a fair bit of the city on my travels - mostly the usual places you'd expect 'Lithers to go during the day (Tate M, for the Bacons, Whitechapel maybe, the odd Hawksmoor church, Canary Wharf). Anyway. I want to see if any of you do come across a copy of my little (pseudo) random distribution sigil. If you do, then pm me with a line from it - to prove you've found it, and aren't just foolin'.
As befits any worthwhile game, there is a prize of some kind for, say the first ten people who manage to locate copies, and it's this: send me a desire of yours, along with the line, and I shall send you a personally designed sigil to use in a ritual to achieve said desire, plus a variety of other personalised stuff (poems, badges, etc) as part of my ongoing invocation to warp my poetic persona more in the direction of Crazy Pop Randomness. Okay?
Okay. Play begins officially at Kings Cross Station, 19h05 on Friday 17th of October. Game on! |
