Hi everybody. There are some events that always happens in a very similar fashion and brings some changes in my life.
I discussed here some times ago about cutting inadvertously my fingers and the strange connection I seem to have with 24th november (almost every year something weird happens).

One hour ago I stumbled in one of these events once more; in a tube station I found a pigeon with a broken wing: does this tell something to anybody out there? Which magickal meaning do you connect to these animals?

Anyway, fisrt time it happened almost in this time of year, near my home.I helped the pigeon, brought it to a veterinary, but then the animal went mad, started to fly again and again against a wall, until it fell dead. I brought it in a strange square near my home, and left it here; then I discovered that this square was once a cemetery (it seems all around they builded upon dead corpses....)

After a few days, some important changes occured in my life.
Last time, the pigeon was so damaged that I killed it with my hands, in order to end its suffering. Again very important changes, painful at the moment, but good after a few years.

This morning, the new pigeon had a broken wing, almost cut away.I helped it, I brought outside to light again and I feed it,butI had'nt the heart to kill it.

It was a strange moment, I felt like I had performed some unknown act of urban magick, but I can't understand the meaning. Does anyone knows something more about it, or lived similar experiences?

Now I'm waiting for something to happens, and in the afternoon I'd like to perform a ritual for something very important for me: any suggestions?

I think the important point is what the pigeon means to you

I just got back from Montreal and met a homeless man in a park who appeared to be an expert on pigeons. As he explained to me the significance of the statue I was standing in front of (that in fact is a heavy Scottish history in the city and the statue in front of me was of the first mayor of Montreal who was Scottish as well) he fed a bunch of pigeons as they all swarmed around. He had a makeshift glove and some of the birds were eating out of his hand as he extended his arm. He explained to me the differences in looks between the males and the females and about the pecking order. Apparently the oldest males eat first, then the young males, old females, then young females. Immediately he struck me like some kind of Mad Tom character as he even looked like him.

i have had some bizzare pigeon incidents (various sick birds, also being followed by one, it just wouldn't leave me alone, quite scary in a mad kinda way) but I too am still trying to work out what they mean. I hope you find your answer.

ZERONE! You were in Montreal? I am in Montreal. What an intense experience!

I have had one recently odd experience with a rock dove or pigeon as it is more commonly known. I actually saw a pure white one...which i took at this time of complete inner and outer turmoil in my life, to mean peace was coming soon.

Other than that, I believe pigoens are considered to be messengers of some sort. Maybe you can ask the universe to be very clear with you about the message it wants to give you this year. Maybe make offering where pigeons hang.

Yes, maybe it was some kind of messenger. And it's strange, because I don't like that kind of birds; I mean, I feel sorry when I see one of them with a broken wing and try to help it, but I'm not particularly keen about its kin.

Do you think I should ask the universe to be more clear? Any particular suggestion on how I can do that?

Lucas, you might have a look at the novel Wizard of the Pigeons by Meghan Lindholm. It's set in Seattle, and the main character is this down-and-out ex-vet who's like a street magician, and his magic is bound up with his relationship with, amongst other things, pigeons.

The messenger image is very clear with pigeons (homing pigeons etc.)

Also pigeons are an evolutionary success story. They have adapted excellently to human cities. They are survivors who can roll with the punches

Also pigeons are inadequately afraid of the poet Robert Frost.

Thanks everybody for your posts. So,what I have now is the feeling that the pigeon wanted to announce something. Yesterday I performed a ritual summoning Thoth and Hermes, as gods of words, which are particularly involved in the project I'm working at nowadays(see here, if you find it interesting: http://www.barbelith.com/underground/topic.php?id=14253).I thought it was the right day to do it because of the pigeon I met in the morning.

Now I'd like to do something more:suggestions?
