The weather is gloriously hot and humid, I've just got out of the pool and I've got some beer on ice. Life is good. Thought I'd call in and say hi to everyone...

This is my first time in the States so I'm currently recovering from a mild dose of culture shock precipitated by a Californian non-smoker who was quite simply one of the rudest people I have ever met. She forced me to be, well, quite terse with her. Most uncharacteristic.

Apart from that it's been great. Woo. Go me.

Please make sure that you have a drive-thru daiquiri before you leave town (if you have access to a vehicle, that is. You can actually walk in, too). It's by far and away the best thing about living in NOLA. Mm. And wireless internet in the local coffee shops. Well, and charbroiled oysters. If you can make it to Drago's in Metairie for the charbroiled oysters, definitely make that a priority. The weather is lovely today, isn't it?
