Saw this double bill last night. Current 93 were possibly the best I've ever seen them, despite there being no Rose McDowall. They had TWO (count 'em, TWO) pianos. They wre epic. Really fucking epic. "Mary Waits In Silence" was so BIG, I almost had to change my trousers. And they ended with a really MAD version of the piece from Imperium about "the locust summers"... (I forget which number it is)
CarterTutti were also on the bill- Chris & Cosey by any other name. To my ears, they sound pretty much identical to what they used to, only spookier. Many, many more spooky Coil-esque noises. And wonderful back-projections.
Questions... C93 played at least two songs I've never heard before, in any form. Does anyone know of new stuff, as there don't seem to be any new releases?
And CarterTutti... ARE they better than they were as C&C, or was it just me? |
