Can anyone recommend a good translation of the Koran? I have the Penguin Classics/Dawood one, which, I have been rather firmly informed, does for Islam what the 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion' does for Judaism...

I needed one for a ChaoSufi experiment, and ordered a beautiful one for free from the Saudi embassy. I do not know how the translation compares, but the Saudi embassy puts it out, so...yeah. Plus, you know, FREE.

I found the Quran to be extremely repetitive, though. Old Testament stuff like Noah and Moses are repeated multiple times.

I should speak on this-
there is a good translation that I find to be fairly
trustworthy and informative as well, due to the amount
of footnotes and addendums to the ayats in each chapter (sura)
by yusuf ali-seek it out
