I heard this trailer was pretty cool - someone commented that they thought it was funny that the Wachowski Bros. were addressing plot point questions and critiques of RELOADED in the trailer to the third movie - are they?

Does the baby look anything like the baby on the spider body in the TOY STORY movies - the hybrid one the messed-up kid next door makes?

By the way, there's a commercial for SCARY MOVIE 3 showing lately - and the only funny bit is Omar Epps as "Orpheus", donning full Matrix attire and doing a pretty funny imitation of Lawrence Fishburne's acting style as Morpheus. ("I beLIIEEEEve this EEEVEEning...") And then his wife, played by Queen Latifah, yells at him and tells him he's gotta take out the trash or something. It really made me laugh - Epps (I think it was him) did a pretty good mock imitation of Fishburne as Morpheus.

the trailer answers my question of "If I ever saw a giant spiny computer with a baby's face, would I shit myself out of sheer terror?"

the answer is yes.

£10 says the trailer's better than the film.

Is it just me-or did my man LAURENCE Fishburne gain about forty pounds? That's kinda fuckin wit me cuz I know my main man Morpheus
was a lean, mean killin machine-nah-mean?
Anyway, I like the big exo-mechs the people in zion are gonna box the machines wit' that's some cool shit.
But yeah, fat Morpheus in da house, and trinity is still hot-although I admit liking her as sort of a guilty pleasure...why?

And oh-yeah, the guy on scary movie 3 playing morpheus is Eddie Griffin, a comedian...Omar Epps is a so called dramatic actor..
Don't trip-I know we all look the same without dreadlocks ala Mekhi Phifer in 8 Mile----

Saint Keggers

(And comedian George Carlin i splaying 'The Archictect' role in Scary Movie 3.)

So basically the main bad is the big giant head...didnt they do that in Third Rock From The Sun?

Is there an address for a downloadable version of the trailer for those of us who don't have broadband?

Incidentaly, this all fits in very nicely with a spoiler I read a while ago- if it plays out it should be a good movie.

I'm with Anna de L on this one... of course, being the sad fanboy I am I just know I'm gonna pay full whack to see this movie, and forever spend my days crying "WHY?" Therefore, I'm probably only betting about two quid, cos that's all I'll have left after buying a ticket.

I SO hope it's good, though... I feel like I'm cheering on a crippled little horse that's somehow got into the Grand National...

It looks very dark, at least.

ONLY NICE THINGS
20:13 / 10.10.03
In terms of the clothing, certainly.

Why are they even bothering with dialogue now? Can't the actors all go "Malkovich Malkovich"? It would make for a much better trailer.

The trailer for Revolutions does indeed look good, but then again, that's the job of a trailer.

I was all excited when I saw the trailer for Reloaded and that film was FUCKING AWFUL.

Once bitten, twice shy and all that.

Our Lady of The Two Towers

Well, I liked (not loved) film 2 (and if you're mean I'm gonna run and tell Tom) so I dare say I'll like the third one. I just hope that as they've rushed the second film out on DVD so people can watch it before the third one that we'll only have to wait a few months for the third one and not best part of a year. For those of us who care about such things... which is just me.

Ho hum... 'Two Towers' special edition is out next month... I hope they have the hot midget action that is Sean Austin's 'The Long and Short Of It' on there too...

Ah, it looks even more boring than the last one. I can't see anything that looks too exciting about this - I like to see a lot of Agent Smith, but since they totally botched that fight scene with him in the last one, I'm not expecting much.

I'll see it, though. I feel that I ought to. I'll just have a few drinks and go with my most heckle-happy friend.

I liked number 2 a lot. Ready, aim, flame me at will, but I really did enjoy myself loads all three times I've seen it so far. Especialy the "botched" fight scene, which was undeinably groundbreaking.

The game was still utter shit though. Thank god I only borrowed the stupid thing.

Nah, most non-internet people I've spoken to really liked it as well.

That's funny, I think I'm the only person I know in non-internet terms who even liked it a bit.

I just thought it was alright, it's a sequel to the Matrix, y'know? You know what you're getting. This one's out in November, right? It will be nice to see if they tie it all up nicely, or merely further annoy people...

I guess that Agent Smith/Neo fight scene was technically innovative (maybe not, though), but it was a total failure in terms of being an exciting fight scene. It could have been a big thrill - it seemed that way from seeing the early trailer - but it was so lacking in drama that it just fell flat. As I said in the Matrix Reloaded thread, it's just no fun watching a fight scene in which the protagonist is omnipotent, and that's why every fight scene in that movie was a huge dud. There's no tension, no adrenaline, no drama, and the villain ends up becoming the underdog (which I don't think was the intention...). That scene could have been so great if Neo was the one being womped on and overcame the obstacle, but no. It just ended up looking like a weird dance routine.

See, I liked it because it was a weird dance routine. Fred and Ginger go kung-fu.

Smith seemed a big enought threat to me- just look at how he clocks Canoe in the new trailer.

As much as I liked the first movie, Reloaded left me cold. There was no urgency, no drama, and why oh why did it have to be so bloody self-referential.

As for three, yeah, I'll watch it - I am weak after all - but I'm not expecting much.

Flux, if you brought any heckle-happy friend to a cinema near me I would have to obliterate the pair of you. I know you American's love a bit of audience interaction, but as far as I'm concerned, no matter how shit a film, others have paid money - you owe it to them to keep quiet.

Sorry, I cannot stand people talking throughtout movies. It's a pet hate.

Mind you, I did want to scream "fuuuuuuuuuuck oooooofffffff" during that awful Planet of the Apes remake.

The Falcon

Is the villain 'the Twisted Foetus', or whatever he was called (Bizarre Placentae?,) from Strider then?

'Cos that'd kinda work.

I'm going to see this film for exactly one reason.

Hugo Weaving laughing like Dr. Evil.

I just hope that he steals Keanu's mojo, hops into a fat suit, and gets a really awful Scotish accent as well.

I hope Jada Pinkett has more to do in this one. The last one she just said a couple of one-liners with Morph and kicked some dude in the head and that was pretty much it.

btw
I think Jada is hot nowadays, wit her lil skinny self.

I wasn't interested in M2 but my flatmate got it on pirate and I was suprised. I liked the self-referentialness and it made me actually desire to see M3. BUT the new trailer, as good as it looks, levaes me a little cold. Do we have to have Agent Smith and Neo fighting again? We've already done that scene, why rehash it?
I thought Revolutions was going to be 99% out of the Matrix and in the real world. I think I may be disappointed.

That baby does look a bit freaky though...

something to keep in mind: parts two and three have been described by the directors as "one 4 hour movie cut in half." I predict that a lot of people who didn't enjoy Reloaded will like this one, and that they'll like the whole package when it's out on DVD. Not everyone I'm sure, but a lot none the less.

I got myself an X-Box just to get the Matrix game, and I enjoyed the hell out of it. It filled in some of the gaps in the story (the game followed Niobe and Ghost, while Reloaded follows Neo), and generally has me shivery in anticipation for Revolutions.

As for the ballet fight scene, I must say again that its value to us lies in the subconcious realm--that is to say the visuals become a part of us. As someone interested in lucid-dreaming/astral-travel, these visuals can become useful skills. Within a dream state we can "will" whatever we imagine, including impossible kung-fu, materialized weapons, time manipulation, teleportation,. The wonderfully silly fight scene helps those with less imagination take control of their dreams....

Friend of mine reckons he fell asleep during the first one after a few "rad cigars" and went through the lobby shootout scene in first person.
