We've done the Tarot. We've done the Runes.

How about we put our heads together and do a similar project on the Tree of Life? One thread per sphere, where we dump all the references we can find along with any intuitive thoughts, musings, essays, poetry, or whatever for each sphere. The end result being another fine collective work from the minds of Barbelith.

I'll throw in what I can, though I'm such a newbie to the Tree that all and sundry should feel free to kick my philosophical nards if/when I make a wrong turn.

Can I suggest that we share some of the more relevant material with SourceryForge, or at the very least build some linkage to and from?

BTW: I think you spelled it wrong. It should be B-H-A-R-B-B-E-L-L-I-T-H.

This could take a lot longer than you think you know.

One thing that could be fun to start with would be everybody suggesting songs to represent each sephira. It would be fun to have a ten-CD DISCO QABALAH. Combine this & mix tape mailings.

Anyway. At least typing it up would be fun.

On that note: BARBELITH. Bet-Aleph-Resh-Bet-Aleph-Lamed-Yod-Tau.
2 1 200 2 1 30 10 400 = 646. Tiphareth-Chesed-Tiphareth suggests Path 20, as signified by the HERMIT and the YOD, the spermatazoon, the swirlings of the milky way galaxy and primal creation itself which is not so far from the original BARBELITH buoy.

6+4+6 = 16, THE TOWER. Selfish ambition overthrown -- the ununified psycho minds of the constituents of this board floating free in space before being infected with the YOD of BARBELITH overthrowing to some extent their individual egos in bringing them here & unifying them under one hive mind.

1-6 Kether-Tiphareth. The crossing of the abyss across the path of GIMEL, suggesting that the highest itself is hidden and accessible within the center of the BARBELITH memeplex.

1+6=7, Netzach, Victory; also The Chariot, which is 418, the GREAT WORK.

BARBELITH wakes you up and shows you the way to the completion of the WORK.

I actually made a ten album compilation for a friend based on kaballah principle... most were arbitrary though.

The letters I chose should be fairly straightforward English to Hebrew transliterations except for the E--this is an ongoing question of mine, since some people seem to use Aleph for E and some just remove it. I left in an Aleph for the E. Also Th=Tau/400, instead of Teth-He.

I theoretically should have used Greek Qabalah as this would be more appropriate to the Gnostic roots of Barbelith (i.e. Barbelo). Or some prime-factored English qabalah. But whatever, Barbelith is made up anyway, just like the qabalah, and I've finally grasped that it doesn't really matter how you do gematria--the point is just to link things together that wouldn't otherwise be linked to spark intuitive leaps--a sort of sleight-of-mind technique in my opinion.

Echoing Boy in a Suitcase, firstly this will take longer than you think- shouldn't it include the 22 paths for example, for a total of 32 threads? That's a lot of bandwidth here, why not add to Sourceryforge the wiki of shadows? Plenty of space there, it needs contributors, this thread could be for discussion of what to put on it...

Well it could go on and on and on especially if we get into the traditional interpretation of the 'Four Hundred Desirable Worlds' in which a microscopic blueprint of each of the 10 Sephiroth is contained in each individual Sephirah throughout each of the 4 Qabalistic Worlds yielding 400 possible worlds (and threads). Then theres the 32 paths as you mention and the Qlipphoth. And the 50 Gates. etc etc etc...I've given myself a migraine just thinking about it.

Saying all that though i think the original propostion of 10 threads for 10 Sephiroth is a good idea (as is the Sourceryforge site...havn't seen that before) and i'd be keen to hear peoples ideas...

The idea in this previous thread was to later collect the sepheraic posts into seperate threads on the spheres and paths, so we can get to doing that once this run is finished, tieing it all together. Waste not, and all that.

I'm also going to turn this thread into an index thread as well, as per previous form.
