so i'm at work at the circulation desk when this girl named holly comes in. she was the first person that i'd ever checked books out to when i started here two years, two months ago and i've had a crush on her since. i've never asked her out before because it's difficult for me to break that clerk/patron wall at work. i couldn't do it when i worked on the bookstore on campus, and i can barely do it here at the library.

so we chatted for a moment; she'd just been down to west palm beach to see radiohead and supergrass and i lamented that i didn't even know they were touring florida. as i was checking out her books (which sounds like such a double entendre) i asked her if she'd like to get lunch sometime. she smiled that smile that girls sometime do (you know the one) and asked my name. y'know, cause i'm an idiot, and i'd never really thought to introduce myself once over the past two years. she said she'd ask for me next time she was in, and took her books on Harriet Beecher Stowe and left, peeking over her shoulder on her way out the door.

i'm so giddy with deluded excitement now something horrible's bound to happen. it's probably all some kind of elaborate trap concocted by my enemies, isn't it?
