I've learnt that writing a novel in the first person makes it hard to shoehorn random things into the storyline when you really don't give a toss *what* happens to him any more - which is a disadvantage.
I think I might never look at mine again. I might contemplate looking at my 2002 attempt though, since my memory of it has faded a bit, and I think there are bits that might be salvageable. Did you do Nanoedmo last month?
