Tarzan....I think I like it. (yeah it shocked the hell out of me too!)

So I watched the premiere tonight, expecting the worst. I liked it. It had Mitch Pillegi (Skinner from the X-files) and some Gap add reject as Tarzan. The plot was a basic intro type so no biggie but it looks like it could become interesting. And the fighting.Wow. It looked well thought out and researched. It was something of a mix of Capoeira and Star Trek brawling and acrobatics. Imagine Jackie Chan raised by Gorrillas.
Anyone else watch?

I agree. This series promises to be a really good time. The gorilla-fu is wonderful to watch. I like the characters. I'm glad that they're not just going to do Tarzan helping Jane solve crimes. I think the mysteries of Greystroke Industries is very interesting, especially once Lucy Lawless joins the cast next week. And I like how they didn't feel the need to make Jane's boyfriend a total creep. Good, good stuff.

I wasz somewhat less impressed overall. I really liked the gorrilla-fu, but thought the plot was contrived and simplistic. When I'm calling the scenes before they come through most of the show (and here's where the tough cop plays becomes the helpless female, requiring our hero to come to the rescue. Oh wait, she is kicking some ass. No, down she goes, and there's Tarzan!) that's a bad sign.

Though I'll give it another watch to see if LL makes it worthwhile.

I just figured it was overly simplistic because it was the intro episode so they had to lay eveything out in order to get the audience involved right away. Yeah Im also awaiting the arrival of LL. I didnt recogized her until they said who it was. I wonder if they'll have any of her Xena sidekicks doing guest stints.
