Harvey Pekar to Kevin Smith

I looked that one up on Star Links. Wait till you see the chain on that one.

Oh, and that page also gets LeVar Burton to Richard Burton in one -- via Kate Mulgrew, who was in a movie with Richard in the 70s.

Listen: Harvey Pekar is the new Kevin Bacon.

15:17 / 25.09.03
Kevin Bacon > Wild Things > Bill Murray > Ed Wood > Johny Depp > Sleepy Hollow > Christopher Walken > Gigli > Ben Affleck > Dogma/etc. > Kevin Smith

...and ok, I cheated a little on that...

Christopher Walken to Eric Idle

Baz Auckland
15:19 / 25.09.03
Harvey Peckar was in Comic Book Confidential with Stan Lee who was in Mallrats?

Tryphena Absent
15:20 / 25.09.03
Kevin Bacon was in Flatliners with Julia Roberts who was in Ocean's Eleven with Matt Damon who was in Dogma with Kevin Smith.

I'm sure there's an easier way... Star Links says that Kevin Smith was in Scream 3 with Neve Campbell who was in Wild Things (1998) with Kevin Bacon

Here's a battle of the black bobs....

Uma Thurman to Louise Brooks

We're The Great Old Ones Now
15:45 / 25.09.03
Louise Brooks, in "It Pays to Advertise", to Norman Foster. Norman Foster to Tuesday Weld in "Play It As It Lays". And... Tuesday Weld to Uma Thurman in "Chelsea Walls"!

Neeeext!

(by the way: Glenn Close to Clint Howard in "The Paper", and Clint Howard to Kevin Spacey in God-help-us-he-was-in-Goldmember.)

Goldmember is the Kevin Bacon of movies. Like Casino Royal and Wild Geese. It's scary.

Mourne Kransky
15:58 / 25.09.03
And for Bazza Auckland's Christopher Walken to Eric Idle, Scary-eyed CW was in Sleepy Hollow with no head but with Christina Ricci who was also in Caspar The Friendly Ghost with Eric Idle.

Sid James to James Mason anyone?

Baz Auckland
16:08 / 25.09.03
There's always a simpler one than what you have in mind!

I was thinking: Walken > Prophecy > Elias Koteas > Exotica > Sarah Polley > Baron Munchausen > Eric Idle...

We're The Great Old Ones Now
16:24 / 25.09.03
Xoc: Lolita.

Mourne Kransky
16:38 / 25.09.03
Sid James w2as in Lolita? Well, fuck! And I thought I was onto something because StarCheatLinks didn't know who Sid James was.

Well done swotty Nick. *hrrrumphs*

Al Jolson to Al Pacino then anyone? And I'll be checking out StarLinks to see who's cheating.

We're The Great Old Ones Now
17:00 / 25.09.03
You're right, that was a bit vatic. James Mason, of course, was in "Lolita", as was Marianna Stone, who was in "Carry On, Dick" with Sid James...

Murray Hamhandler
19:42 / 25.09.03
Al Jolson was in Swanee River w/Don Ameche, who was in Oscar w/Chazz Palminteri, who was in A Bronx Tale w/Robert DeNiro, who (finally) was in Heat w/Al Pacino.

I'm sure there's a shorter one.

Okay: Dr. J and Mr. T.

Mourne Kransky
20:37 / 25.09.03
Good man, Deke. I have no idea who Dr J is though. Google gives me a female archaeologist and a bearded film critic, amongst others, but no actor chap. Maybe this is a secret Canadian star?

pointless and uncalled for
21:08 / 25.09.03
Dr. J in The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh with Stockard Channing who was in To Woo Fong, Thanks For Everything with Patrick Swayze who was in Donnie Darko with Noah Wylie who was in ER with Anthony Edwards who was in Northern Exposure with Barry Cobin who was in Man Against the Mob with George Peppard who was in the A-Team with Mr. T.

I hope I'm not overstepping the six moves by having six people inbetween. I am of the understanding that this is the way it goes. If not then I claim a Donnie Darko extra step, because I can.

My nominations would be Zhang Ziyi and Rusty Cundieff

Wouldn't it be possible to build something to Dr. J from Mr. T's role in the Rocky movies?
Looking this up... Erving (with an E, sorry) was in Philadelphia with Denzel Washington who was in Mo' Better Blues with Samuel L. Jackson... hell, I'm lost... with Hulk Hogan/Carl Weathers who was in Rocky III with Mr. T.

Heck, Star Links does it in two. Hmph.

Not to be a spoilsport, but I'm something of an old hand at all this and when playing with my pal Richie we always ban The Player from the game.

It's just ... way too easy otherwise!

Gregory Peck and Edward Norton.

Oh. Almost forgot. Rusty Cundieff was in Tales From The Hood with Joe Torry who was in House Party 3 with Chris Tucker who was in Rush Hour 2 with Zhang Ziyi.

Easy peasy.

Jack The Bodiless

Gregory Peck was in Cape Fear with Robert De Niro, who was in The Score with Edward Norton. That's a bit too easy...

Cheech Marin and Stan Laurel...

Mourne Kransky
18:33 / 30.09.03
Such cunning devilry, Money $hot. There must be a quicker way...

(Had to look Stan Laurel's filmography up on IMDb though and check*)

Cheech and Chong were in Graham Chapman’s Yellowbeard with Spike Milligan who was the Gryphon in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, in which Sir Ralph Richardson was the Caterpillar, and Sir Ralph was also in (oddly enough*) Tales From The Crypt with Peter Cushing, who played a young Oxbridge Academician to Stan Laurel’s A Chump at Oxford.

OK, cinéastes, Mickey Mouse and Mickey Rooney.

Hieronymus
03:51 / 01.10.03
No problemo.

Mickey Rooney was in National Velvetwith Elizabeth Taylor who was in Get Bruce! with Robin Williams who was in The Secret Agent with Bob Hoskins who was in Who Framed Roger Rabbit with Mickey Mouse

Now... Ron Jeremy and Lassie

Solitaire Rose as Tom Servo
05:16 / 01.10.03
Hmm....how to go, how to go...

Ron Jeremy in Killing Zoe with Eric Stoltz, who was in Pulp Fiction with Bruce Willis, who was in Armageddon with Charlton Heston who was in Planet of the Apes with Roddy McDowell who was in Lassie Come Home with...that's right, Lassie!

Scooby Doo and Harrison Ford!

Bah! Scooby starred with Sarah Michelle Gellar in his self-titled debut feature, she was in 'Simply Irresistable' with Dylan Baker, He was in 'Random Hearts' with FordBoy.

Harold Lloyd and MacCauly Culkin

Mourne Kransky
13:09 / 01.10.03
I can only do in five films. Must be a quicker way.

Harold Lloyd was one of many famous extras in the chariot race scene in the 1925 Ben Hur and Ramon Novarro was the star. This I got from IMDb Lloyd filmography.

Ramon Novarro was in a shit film called Heller in Pink Tights with Anthony Quinn and Quinn’s last film before he died was Avenging Angelo, where Quinn was a mafia Capo and Sylvester Stallone was his bodyguard.

Sly had bulging cartoon muscles in Antz alongside Dan Aykroyd and an anthill of other celebs. Dan Aykroyd was in My Girl with the execrable Macaulay Culkin.

I’ll see your comedian and child actor combo and raise you:

Groucho Marx and Jenny Agutter.

YNH
06:03 / 02.10.03
Oh, this is so beautiful I don't even care if there's a faster way.

Jenny Agutter was in Logan's Run with Farrah Fawcett who was in Cannonball Run with Burt Reynolds who was in Smokey and the Bandit with Jackie Gleason who was in Skidoo with Marx.

I'm not very good at posing. Hugo Weaving to Daniel Radcliff?

Spaniel
08:48 / 02.10.03
Easah!

Hugo with Ian Holm in LOTR, Holm with Richard Harris in Robin and Marian, Harris with Radcliff in Harry Potter.

Bruce Campbell and Brian Blessed.

Mourne Kransky
19:30 / 02.10.03
Probably the long way around the houses but wtf:

Bruce Campbell was in The Hudsucker Proxy with Tim Robbins
(did see the film but had to go to IMDb to check the cast)
who wore Susan Sarandon’s knickers for the first time in - fuck, baseball, baseball... yes! - Bull Durham
and she perved girlishly in The Rocky Horror Picture Show with Richard O’Brien
who was in Flash Gordon with Brian Blessed.

So, Bruces and Brians:
Bruce Lee to Brian Dennehy
