What's NYC like at Halloween?

I'm grounding plans to be in Queens from Oct 29 through Nov 3.

I've heard the parade is not to missed. I've also heard it's grown pretty large.

I can only imagine the balls and soirees that occur during this freaky holy time.

Inform if you Will, Barbelith.

It's all bullshit. You're late by 15 years.

The '90s really ruined this town.

Well, poop.

In that case, Q, where do the good chain fights fire up?

Ah, don't listen to me, I'm notoriously grumpy about this kind of thing.

I'm going to it this year. Last year I went as the Human Sperm. Except that I didn't know that I was a human sperm at the time. It's funny how things work out.

I always found the parade to be a raging pain in the ass, but it's sort of fun to trop around the West Village afterwards and watch the parade-goers in their drunken debauchery. I guess there is probably more going on in NYC at Halloween than in a lot of places, but it all depends what you wind up doing. My best NYC celebrations were either on a rooftop on Christopher street at an annual party that always got shut down by the cops, or two years ago at a show in Brooklyn, where I watched an entire posse of Elliots (from E.T.) ride bikes around the block, complete with bundles in the baskets.

You'll definitely get to see some good costumes, at the very least. I almost wish I was going to be there again.

Looking at the website from last year, it doesn't look like it would be too hard to be in the parade even. Wonder how correct I am in that thought. For an pseudo-exhibitionist like myself that might actually be better than traversing the 'madding crowd'.

If not, maybe I can meetup with you, Lionheart.

I haven't been to the parade in years, so my input could be uot of date, but what I remember is a crowd half-a block deep and a parade so choked with marchers that you couldn't see any costumes.
