At least it is a shot a getting some sort of attention.
Take a long hard look at that sentence.
Long and hard.
Then ask yourself why you have invested so much time, energy, and emotion in the approbation—the attention—of people you're never going to meet. People who, by and large, don't care if you (or, for that matter, I) live or die. People who are hardly even people at all, in any way that counts—imaginary friends, imaginary enemies, AI systems generating auomatic replies, for all that you know. Nobody you're ever going to drink with, or kiss, or punch. Make-believe people in a magical make-believe world.
Think about that.
And then call your Mom. |
