I don't know much about Blake's 7 but I thought some of you might enjoy this.

I left the topic abstract and title generic so this can be my dumping ground for all things Lego.

Man Lego is pretty cool. The other week I went over to the Man's house, and the coffee table was covered in Lego. I said, "where's the kid," and A. (roommate of the Man) said, "There's no kid, it's Nick's Lego." So, Nick being an old roommate and business partner of mine, I said, "Ah--so Nick's the kid."

No joke.

Anyway, I wish I still had all the Lego my bro and I had as kids. Man, there was old school space stuff (two different bases, three different ships) and a host of generic Lego bits and blocks. I used to have plans that I created for making a life-sized pump action sawed off shotgun. I've put that gun together on several occasions.

Reminiscing sigh.

I've still got all my castle and pirate lego.

And I'll be damned if anybody's going to try and make me get rid of it.

My sister won a $1000 gift certificate to Sears last year, so I tried to persuade her to spend the entire thing on Lego. She refused, but if I ever win the lottery, I would fill a room full of the stuff. That would be so cool...

Baz: have you seen the Lego Desk?

(Sidebar: it's Lego. Not plural. Just Lego.)

I want one! In fact, I have a terrible urge to go out and buy some lego now. Maybe not a whole desk's worth, mind you.

Lego is just a good reson to have kids. I have some in my purse...really...and a matchbox car.

Now, this is not lego proper, but why should they get the monopoly on interlocking plastic blocks..huh? Why?

A scorpion made of the stuff!

I am a lego dreaming...

If The Bible in Lego isn't worth mentioning, then nothing can be.

Nothing has ever managed so perfectly to catch the look on the faces of Adam and Eve as they realise that they are... naked.

I am one of the original members of the Lego Builders club. Joined in 1979 and was still a member when they celebrated their tenth anniversary. Even got my name printed on the front page of "The Master Builder", the newsletter of the club.

As for being a big kid I've got ALL my Lego models up in the attic of my folks house. A huge box full alongside models and some I built myself from imagination or from one of the self build books they published over the years.

And of course, as a resident of the West Midlands I have the thrill of a Lego Store in the Bullring in Brum to explore too soon.

I have thought of selling my Lego, but the question is how. Bag it up and chuck it in a car boot sale. Or spend fabulous hours rebuilding some of the models (I still have the instructions, sometimes it pays to be a pack rat) and find a specialist stall, or advertise them on e-bay.

Which would you choose?

Singular "Lego" is indeed the preferred form. The pluralised form is for johnny-come-latelies, and the castle, pirate, space, Star Wars, LOTR etc. themed Lego is an egregious offense to the integrity of the art. When I were a lad, we thought wheels and tranparent bricks were cool etc ...

adamswish -- I would think about putting it on e-bay. Work out what you'd be happy to sell it for, realise that is what it is worth to you and consequently keep it. In any event, I bet some pieces will be very collectible in years to come.

Yeah, when I were a nipper it was always either Lego or Meccano... my dad loved Meccano, but I think getting me that into petrol-engines-as-toys as a child could have been BAD...

Fortunately Space Lego fulfilled all my building and smashing needs.

Lego rocks. I know "Legos" is not strictly accurate, but it sounds nice. Or alternatively, is a Greek island. Don't ask me... my geography sucks as bad as my architecture.

You know what I like about Lego men? You can put the Knight's visor on the Spaceman's helmet. You always could and I think it still works - if you can find a Knight's visor. It's just too cool.

do you realise that back in the day Lego had a firm conviction not to make any "war" models. No guns, no tanks, no little fellas in camoflague to be sold to the impressionable youth.

Of course that has gone for a burton now with the Star Wars lego and other themes.

Ignatius I understand where you're coming from in your loathing of the themes, but then I can remember when the horses were built out of the little bricks and not a vacum-injected mould for the little chaps to sit on.

But then I remember just how excited I would of been if I had got any of this stuff (especially the Star Wars models) back in the day.

A prize to the first person who posts a picture of pirates vs. ninjas in lego (and it is possible from their sets believe me )
