London Invisibles: Say Hello to Boy in a Suitcase

Boy in a Suitcase
21:04 / 12.09.03
Hello London!

Arriving Monday to stay for a year, finish literature degree at King's College, and write a book on magick for Disinfo. And have loads of fun. Wanted to say hello to any & all Barbelithers including but not limited to those I met last time I popped 'round in the summer of 2000.

Oh, and incidentally, I am on a friend's couch until I can find a place to stay, so any leads on cheap flats in cool neighborhoods would be most appreciated!

Hope to be seeing you all soon!

'Ssup? We must celebrate this in a joyous way that doesn't involve going to the Princess Louise. Where was that bar we went to a few years ago, The Blue Bar or The Blue Room or summat? Had comfy sofas downstairs and a half-finished industrial vibe. Is that still around?

The Blue Posts? Nice pub, but still serves horrible beer. Cheap, though.

And yeah, I may well still have a room going. Get in touch if y're interested.

It was one that Anna (not Anna DeL) organised IIRC, about a mile from Old Street Station or somewhere round there? Might have just been called Blue, damn my cut-price brain...

I'm gonna be valiumed out on the plane so I can sleep, but I'll probably be burnt the first couple days I'm there nonetheless. But I'd love to meet up at the Blue something or other.

NOT the Blue Post, jesus, I don't want to take any chances of history repeating itself a la that Swamp Thing story where... um... history repeats itself. I was probably talking about Bluu. Can we go be Hoxton Twats?

Well, we've succesfully narrowed the location down to a preferred colour, but has a day been decided on yet?

How about an after work drink?

Well, I'll be there (probably). We need to let our jetlagged friend recover first and select a day. What about a post work drink on Fri?

I'm going to be in town on friday anyway, so that would suit me fine. How's friday sound to you, Boy in a Suitcase?

Augh

Just off plane

Staying in Willesden Green for time being

Trying to stay up through the day and go to sleep at normal English time. Augh. Will entertain myself with Chris Morris DVDs and Francois Sagan books until I pass out at the preordained time.

But Friday sounds good yes

Friday could be cool.

But WHERE, dammit?

WHERE???

Well, I would suggest, since some people will be running out of time to decide, the Crown on New Oxford Street. It will probably be quite full, but has an outside into which we can spill, and is central and easy to find (Nearest Tube Tottenham Court Road, walk past the big building (Centre Point) on your right and past Forbidden Planet also on your right, and it is on your right). Far from perfect, and only sells David Blaine beer, but it might do as well as any...

BinaS: I recommend napping, then waking, then going to bed 'round midnight. Works for me. Of course, you've got a bigger time difference than I so I know it's maybe tougher. PUSH YOURSELF! YOU CAN DO IT! WORD!

Anyway I've been super busy but I just wanted to let you know I'm coming, but probably won't be there 'til after anna leaves (boo!).

OK, Crown on New Oxford Street at 6 PM – sound allright? I will meet you there–will; be wearing pinstripe suit and various arcane talismans. And my skin. Will have along Amish-looking fellow named Matthew. SIX O'CLOCK. SIX O'CLOCK. FRIDAY. CROWN. NEW OXFORD. SIX O'CLOCK. YESSSS. 31 JULY. YESSSSS.

Good to see yawl and meet the Suitcase boy and the Amish fellow. Please excuse my rather sudden exit (god, me and my exits) but I had a can of cider in my pocket which inexplicably ruptured and so I had all cider pouring out of my jacket and all down my leg and all over the floor and I just had to flee to my office and wring myself out and change clothes.
