Just thought you'd like to know - Microsoft has found another security hole in WinNT/XP/2000/2003, similar to the one that was used by the recent Blaster worm. No one's written the worm for this one yet, but it's likely to come pretty soon.

The patch for the Blaster worm exploit doesn't protect against this one. A new patch is available here (near the bottom of the page)

Cheers, Mutley. Having had that whole Blaster rash, and therefore NOT trusting my anti-virus software, it's nice to get updates from people who AREN'T Microsoft.

Try downloading fresh drivers and so on. Might wake it up again.

From the MS website:

Note -- Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition (SE), and Windows 95 also are not affected by this issue. However, these products are no longer supported. Users of these products are strongly encouraged to upgrade to later versions.

Of course, unsupported software is, well, unsupported, and I know I'm only OK for now. But does anyone else see the humour in this wonderful piece of advice? :-)
