I am currently planning a shamanistic ritual in the desert involving a sigil. the sigil's purpose is to create funds for a project I am developing.
a bunch of my friends who are not very aware of magick, and definitely do not practice will be involved.

what is your experience with involving "normies" in charging sigils?

I intend to let everyone know that one of the ritual 's purposes is to "make something happen" that will ultimately benefit me personally.
what about revealing the specific purpose/significance of the sigil/ritual?
I am interested in increasing my own ability to charge the sigil by having an elaborate ritual setting, and having the energy created by the group "work" for me.

any other related experiences / comments ?

I have never conducted rituals with other people, neither with practicing nor unaware magicians...

I remember how grant marrision had been critiziced for what he did in the invisibles, but I am convinced that its not necessarily a bad thing to involve other poeple, as long as some sort of consent/awareness is there......I trust it will be a great experience for everyone involved.

now that I'm postiong this, I am thinking that I could possibly also post the sigil online at the time of the ritual and ask for charge-help from barbelith.....

If you're going to tell them of your intentions before hand, make sure that they're all open-minded. However, their knowing may radically alter the results for good or ill. If you tell them the ritual is to benefit yourself, they may react negatively (unless it's your birthday or something, or you suffer from some horrid disease).

Personally I wouldn't tell them overtly but simply make the setting as magickal as possible and encourage everyone to let loose their inhibitions. For the desert, I recommend a good sound system and a competent trance dj (and plenty of mind altering). Just get everyone blissed out and trancy and then work your magick.

thnx mr23, yes i think it's good advice to focus on the setting.
i think rather than actively involving others into the work, I will just have em there to enjoy the ritual, and I'll do my thing without directly incvolving anybody.
my concern is what sort of answers to give when asked about the sigil which I will set up openly. my friends all know that I'm strange and eccentric, but it'll be hard to avoid direct question regarding the meaning/symbolism of sigil and the enochian tablets i will set up...
