To all who saw/posted to the "Young Magicians on Magick" thread:

The project, now retitled GENERATION HEX, is ON. I met with Richard Metzger in LA a few days ago and he has given me a year to write and layout the book.

Anybody else want in?

What do you mean by "want in"? My memories a little fuzzy...

First off, CONGRATS!!! I had the good fortune to read the proposal of this book and I love the idea. Barbelithers unite and contribute!

Boy In A, I totally want to write a piece. So count my stuff in!

What did Metzer say? How was hanging with him?

Is the book going to be all essays by various magicians or will you be writing larger non-essay sections as well?

(We'll have to lie about me being under 30, I'm 31)

Sypha, there's a previous thread on this - BoyInA gives the title above. He proposed a book to Disinfo (after interning there this summer) about magicians under age 30 writing about their experiences with magick.

Do we have submission deadlines? Do you know what they are?

Alright boy in a suitcase, congrats again. I'll send you my piece in a few months.

Congrats, man!

What exactly are you looking for (What's already covered, if anything?) and when do you want it? You know, submission details and such.

Woohoo! I'm in, I'll send you a sample first if you like- am I right in thinking we need to keep them article length?
Well done!

Thank you for congratulations.

The original thread, which contains the general parameters of what I'm looking for–although I also want pictures of everybody to keep on file at this point–is here:

See you soon.

Sorry for not keeping you informed, BiaS. Life has been hectic.

I'm streamlining my life in general, so I hope to have more time to get something together for you.

BiaS: Great idea, totally stoked for you that you've received the go-ahead. Let me know if Gen Hex includes 32 year olds...

Kudos and congrats!

Hah! I am within the demographic.

Sounds like fun, Suitcase. You still looking for more people?

I am still looking for more people. I might slip in a few 31 or 32 year olds but remember you have to be addressed to youth culture in some way...

A general note on submission guidelines for anybody still keeping track.

The book will be divided into two sections, autobiographical (who I am-how I got into magick-what happened-what I think it means) and practical (pure hardgnosticated technique). People are contributing to one or more at 3-5,000 words each. Hoping to collect first drafts by Christmas, and I will at least consider any and everything as long as it's clear, honest, and carries an edge of novelty and maybe arrogant I-can-change-the-worldism.

Definitely, I've got some interesting stories to tell and (hopefully) a different spin on things. You should get my submission in a day or two.

Working hard on it, BiaS. Hope it's the kind of thing you're after.

Suitcase, will send in contact info and proposal in a few days. You caught me at a really good time, my last class is on this coming Friday, then I have a month off.

All hail University!

Thank the gods, I'm 32 (just turned) and was planning on lying about my age in print for my piece.

>> "Generation Hex" will not be a guide to "becoming an uber-powerful magician and getting back at everyone who laughed at your black nailpolish."

Damn funny sentence, BoyInA. Nice work.

(Thee boy apologizes for the last post. Been locked up in my room for weeks working on this book shit and caning mushrooms like a Care Bear or something. Friendster is my only outlet to the world... a tube of air to a man buried alive in the tomb of Christian Rosenkreutz... fuuuckk...)

Your sins are absolved, my son - no more apologies necessary. You've done your penance here.

You're just about the last person I ever thought I'd see on Friendster, BoyInA....
