I normally disdain personality tests, as I have tried a few and judged them lacking.

But this one is to my taste, as I find it reveals much more of the participant thatn the others I have sampled.

Me? 100% Liberal Quaker & 98% Unitarian Universalism as the top scorers.

What are your beliefs?

Apparently I'm 100% Unitarian Universalist. But it seems we're a 'diverse' bunch, so I predict a lot more of us.

Wow Neo-Pagan, followed by New age - that was a suprise!

I don't hold with all that hippy Druid Stonehenge gathering palm reading crap. Or perhaps I do, but just didn't realise it before. Unitarian Universalism was third though, whatever that is.

I suppose I'd better do some research into what these beliefs actually are supposed to mean before I disregard them off hand.

Damnit I thought I was mostly buddhist, but that was way down the list, I haven't felt so ill-informed for years!

The thing is (IMOH), Buddhism isn't supposed to be a religion, it's a philosophy. So, no matter what faith you consider yourself, you could also be a Buddhist. I guess. My top five results are:
1. Neo-Pagan (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (96%)
3. New Age (95%)
4. New Thought (90%)
5. Mahayana Buddhism (82%)
Whatever. I'm a being of chaos, and as such don't tend to worry much about which religion I'm part of at any given time.

Feh. Unitarian Universalist my arse.

Just goes to show, programs on a website can't tell you your spiritual path.

It is kind of a neat little test. I am hardly surprised to see such Eastern influences (1, 6, 8, 9, 11) cropping up wrt my own belief structures.

Secular Humanism, as usual. Why do they give you so many results? Surely you don't need any more than five to see the direction your going in? In my case, I'd have thought anything other than secular humanism or unitarian universalism was totally redundant since I answered all the questions about faith with 'not applicable'...

Yeah, another Secular Humanist again. Although how it can possibly rate me as closer to a Unitarian than an atheist is frankly astounding:

1. Secular Humanism (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (99%)
3. Nontheist (92%)
4. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (88%)
5. Liberal Quakers (85%)

1. Neo-Pagan (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (90%)
3. Mahayana Buddhism (89%)
4. New Age (86%)
5. Hinduism (74%)

Bit concered about having Scientology in my top ten, what's the deal with them anyway?

I think that the way the test is designed, having any morality automatically distances you from atheism. Partly because atheists don't necessarily share any kind of ethical code, I suppose.

Hmm, interesting that I didn't tick one box with reference to a single God or Christ and this test still places me as a Protestant.

I think any leanings towards the LHP are simply construed as "Neo-Pagan". It is too much like looking at the underside of a rock for the mainstream. If you don't disturb it too much, the bugs won't crawl out.

Okay then.

All hail the new Insect Overlord!
