Free Wikis?

So I've been having way too much fun with the Narrative Hypersigil RPG project (as seen by my frantic updates over the past few days), and I want more wiki. There's a couple projects I'd like to do with some friends that would be perfect in wiki format, but I don't know anything about starting one. I searched for free wiki hosting; rather than picking one at random, I thought I'd ask if anyone had good or bad experiences with any of them in particular.

(If it makes a difference, privacy is sort of desireable for at least one of them, but it's not strictly necessary.)

Well, I'm part of a group over at www.pantywad.com -- it's not my space, so I can't offer it up for anything *too* massive, but if you think you got something that fits in with the general eclectic tone of the place, go for it.

Are there any guiding principles to the place? I can't seem to find an index so as to get a feel of what does fit in.

One project I'm working on is some ideas to make politics 'cool' in our town again (many people are too busy being bleeding-edge-hip to note who's running for the Democratic nomination, f'rinstance, and we'd like to make the two into the same thing via events and weird propaganda), and we might want other input. The other is a book I'm hashing out with someone else, and we don't particularly want other input =)

Well, the book might *get* other input there, so I'd look elsewhere for that.

I could start an "activism" page for you, if you like, though.

That would rock! (If you're interested in what I've been brainstorming on, check my LJ.)

Hmm. The best thing for me to do would be to start up a "PerfectTommy" page, I think, and you can do what you need from there. I'll put the link on my homepage on there.

OK, so here you go. Go wild. Just so you know, Merlin's hosting the site, so he's King Jefe, as much as anyone is. I think you know things he wants to know about.

Also worth mentioning - thus far, we're not using handles on the site. I have no idea if anyone cares one way or the other. I can't see why they would, but I haven't actually asked. It's not well-traveled enough for askin' on there to be worthwhile. I suppose I could bring it up with Merle via email, if you think it's worth asking about.

So, go, be productive.
