BBC news
It seems you can, how twenty first century.
"What do you do?"
"Oh, I'm a fantasy character assett stripper"

I guess it's no sillier than the futures exchanges... in fact, the whole stock market thing does my head in for the very same reason. You're buying and selling stuff you never see, which doesn't actually exist in any tangible form... and when you start buying and selling the prospects for WHAT IT MAY BE IN THE FUTURE... man, that's fucked up.

Julian Dibbell, didn't he write "My Tiny Life?". The books about LamdaMoo. Let's see - yes he did. He is obviosusly addicted.

Seems like quite a nice job, though. Work from home, probably take the laptop out into the garden, battle a few monsters, run some errands for Mr Big. As Stoatie says no sillier than so much of the virtual money making that goes on in the workplace.

Now to get my Surreal Estate brokerage up and running. I want to set up virtual property for people, decorated with the terrain of their choice, and sell or rent it to people who need a VR vacation spot or companies who want a VR boardroom for holding webconferences. Anyone feel like investing with me? VR software designers want to help out?
