Erk, I can't take the mess.

Basically for the last few days I've been wondering if there's a way that the original post in a thread in Art, Fashion and Design could be moved or copied and stuck in to another thread? There are always hundreds of loose posts with no replies and they take the form of brief reviews but people insist on starting an entirely new thread despite the odds of anyone actually replying. When putting views forward on an exhibition it would be far more sensible to keep it tidy, stick them all in one place and start a new thread later if something takes off. It might also help increase the numbers who actually talk about art shows and that would be nice.

Well I'd quite like to move the Subconscious Art of Graffitti Removal and Gilles Barbier's "Nursing Home" in to What's On. Perhaps Cruel and Tender at the Tate Modern could go in there as well although I'd like a second opinion on that one.

Rainbow Shoelaces and Adidas- Help Me Please! (these are really quite old) probably should have originally gone in to Ongoing Fashion Help and Advice but, erm, they didn't.

Tom can meld threads. Nobody else can, except presumably Cal. Otherwise, what you could do is link to the "What's On" thread and gently but firmly move to lock the others...

If everything gets lumped into one thread the search function will be useless. Unless you're going to change the abstract everytime someone adds something new.

If there's a general thread with brief reviews then you'll automatically know what to scan through anyway. All you have to do is search for a word like exhibitions. If it turns in to a conversation than it can continue in a new thread. Something along the lines of the What are you currently reading thread in Books.
