Organic Time™

Organic Time is the term I came up with to describe the spiralling ascent of complexity that's made pleasantly clear in Promethea 12. I'm sure you know what I mean, The Major Arcana Procession = Universal Chronology.

I wrote it down and made some changes along the way to make MORE sense to moi(I stuck with Rider-Waite), and incorporated those meanings into my Didactic Tarot Deck. I even attempted to describe Organic Time to my girlfriend, but she wasn't having it. She's an Aquarius, and they have the hardest time getting out of The Tower.

My question is: Are there any websites, books, or other forms of media devoted to the discussion/education/interpretation of Organic Time as I've described it? Because if not, I'm gonna make one, and I'm gonna like help in critique and conception of ideation.

For best results, approach it in reverse. The Universe...Judgement...The Sun...The Moon
I won't spoil it, just give it a try. The results are phenomenal.

But doesn't the order of the Major Arcana vary from deck to deck?

THE FOOL
Nothingness Unity/Inspiration
The potential for change and aniticipation of novelty.
In time, Change initiates You.

THE MAGICIAN
The Big Bang Unity/Understanding
The exnihiliation of the universe.
In time, You initiate Change.

THE HIGH PRIESTESS
The Nucleosynthesis Unity/SuperSelf
The transformation of energy into matter. The age of energy cools to evolve into the age of matter, becming the elements, physics, and stars of the universe.
Time, Change, and You are all the same thing.

THE EMPRESS
The Planet Earth Inspiration/Understanding
The creation of the planet Earth and its solar system. It's incredibly rare that the conditions are such that water exists in a liquid form, much less in its quantity on the planet Earth. The Earth is the amazingly unique location of the continued evolution of the universe.

THE EMPEROR
DNA Inspiration/SuperSelf
The linking of hydrocrabon chain molecules into a divisible and replicating spiral form. The original architecture for evolution.
In time, trust thine own Self.

THE HEIROPHANT
Organic Evolution Inspiration/The Give
The development of the first organic single-celled forms of life. DNA evolves as mutation allows these forms to change as the world changes.
In time, You/We/The Universe Must Evolve.

THE LOVERS
The Cambrian Explosion Understanding/SuperSelf
The linking of single-celled organisms into multicellular organisms that can replicate their forms. What's more important than Love when loving another? Understanding them as another individual in the system, living with you in the universe, not living for you to love. It's called teamwork, baby.
In time, everyone is together, everyone is part of it/us/you.

THE CHARIOT
The Devonian Leap Understanding/Judgment
The development of lobe-finned fish on land. The lobe-finned fish are ancestors of every form of life outside of the oceans. These fish are best seen as the "Darwin" ichthys insignia on the back of our automobile chariots that allow us to conquer space and speed.
Evolution pushes us to conquer new elements
In time, You/We/The Universe must discover and conquer new elements.

STRENGTH
The Homo Sapien The Give/Judgment
The evolution of the primate into the human ancestor. Homo Sapient life is blessed with a mind of unique strength and capability, not the least of which is its ability to discern emotion from reason and imagine new elements.
The human allows for the Universe to evolve in the realms and elements of the mind, soul, and God.

THE HERMIT
Paleolithic Culture The Give/SuperSelf
The migration of the caveman into the first cultural groups. African homo sapien separated and travelled to cover each continent of the Earth, setting up new ways of conquering each new environment. From the cavemen we have the first laws, first art, first drives.

THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE
Ancient Civilizations The Give/Emotion
The development of the disparate groups of humans into the first governing civilizations of the past. Each of these civilizations evolved according to the elements of their environments, developing and exploring the inherent meaning and conscience. And as they grew, they fell, and grew again, and fell again. Examples include Mesopotamia, the Maya, the dynasties of Ancient Egypt and Ancient China.

JUSTICE
The Conquest of Rome Judgment/SuperSelf
Eventually, the ancient civilizations of the world grew to the point of reunification. And as a result, world conquerors were born to bring the collected teachings of the world civilizations together to create a superpower. The succesful superpower, and first unified face of the human collective, was Rome.

THE HANGED MAN
The Fall of the Empire Judgment/Reason
The Roman Empire grew and was made to be put to a time of testing. The continued evolution of the human collective called for an initiation to find what must be kept and what must be burned away in order to grow as a healthy entity. The laws and mental limitations of the Roman Empire had to fall in order for the Earth's people to grow and learn.

DEATH
The Dark Age SuperSelf/Emotion
The centuries that followed the fall of the human collective separated its conquered people back into its broken facets -where they continued developing Roman ideas. Feudal protective systems were developed in the face of fear and uncertainty.

TEMPERANCE
The Renaissance SuperSelf/Imagination
The spark of imagination reignited some of the disparate facets and sent the world's people into new elements of discovery, including art, technolgy, science, the mind, theology, and the planet on which they lived. The Renaissance reunified the old and new worlds, bringing new ideas into the fold of what was once Rome.

THE DEVIL
Age of Reason SuperSelf/Reason
In the light of the renaissance, civilizations got a kickstart as people examined the mental limitations of the past and became more dependant on the developments in the material world. The time resulted in the wild extrapolations of science and technologies, education, and the continued growth toward another collective face of the Earth. By the end of the Age of Reason, the people had generated the meme seeds for what would grow into Popular Culture.

THE TOWER
World War Emotion/Reason
The time of intellectual growth hit a brick wall when the nations of the world believed they could behave as they once did when they were feudal protective systems. Not so much a single Tower as much as a great many towers thinking they were each the tallest, began to fall. The World War signified the end of individual nations and the beginning of the world market and global worldcentric meme.

THE STAR
Spirit of the Twentieth Century Emotion/Imagination
The outcome of the first World War resulted in a shift of power even further to the west. People began to realize another reunification was upon them, they vigorously rejoiced in the fresh blood of the world economy and new ways of thought and belief. In the roaring twenties, popular culture saw the flourishing of communist ideologies and the shredding of conventional perspectives.

THE MOON
The Holocaust Emotion/Reality
The hope and direction instilled in popular culture was tested more harshly than ever before when a second war enveloped the world, forcing the human collective to face its darkest side. In the time of the Holocaust, genocide and annihilation became double-edged weapons. Those that survived the war learned how to never allow such an event to occur again.

THE SUN
Psychedelia and Civil Rights Reason/Imagination
By the middle of the century, popular culture mated incestually with hollywood and media technologies to evolve into Pop Culture. In the wake of all that had come before, people experimented with nonconventional ideas and behaviors to further sharpen and align the worldcentric and postmoern ideology. As people were educated to remember the atrocities of war, and the hope of the new century, people were also indoctrinated with the memes and archetypes of the hippie.

JUDGEMENT
The Information Crisis Reason/Reality
The end of the Twentieth Century isn't so much marked by an event as much as the slow sweeping of individual searches for growth. This awakening of the human collective's elements is forced upon us by the eradication of nearly all limits to definition and calls on us to judge ourselves in this new reality to give us a sense of reason in our single life's scale and then through the scale of the whole universal procession.

THE WORLD
Post Timewave Zero Imagination/Reality
Transpersonal awareness of Pop Culture awaits us on the edge of timewave zero.

Chesed: Once you get past Justice, would that be an idealistic view (sensible given the basis on a European method of divination) of the Western World, or is it meant to cover the development of the Entire World?

I thought that too... that the whole thing felt biased toward western development as spiritual evolution, but the fact remains that the West dominates Pop Culture. I mean, New York City is the center of the universe. Osama knew what he was doing.

Another way of looking at it is this: As the West experienced evolution through Descender spirituality (material and social dogmas, memetic deconstruction) the East maintained and reaffirmed Ascender spirituality (nondual and personal religions). As you can feel in the current era, the spiritual memes of the East continue to infiltrate America's Pop Culture. Nondual spirituality will only merge with the evolving system when we hit The World. Ascenders and Descenders will realize each other.

a couple ideas on this old thread. ive been having fun surfing through old conversations about time.

the tarot splits at the wheel of fortune into various semi-seperate civilizations, which are united once again at temperance. the tarot itself is a document of the hebrew-egyptian ideas that rule the mysticism of western (roman) culture. the 'equivalent' of the tarot among the pagans, asians, or whomever, will be a different story during the time of separation, and a different perspective on the latter era.

i see the star as an important step, but disagree with the description. unfortunately, i have a very shaky concept of the tarot from here on. i think the star represents the extra-terrestrial consciousness that the human race picked up in the 20th century. i mean that we became aware of our real capacity to become beings beyond the scope of our planetary mother. aspects of this space consciousness include nuclear energy and psychadelics and astral technology, as well as alien myths and astro/cosmo/taikonauts.

maybe the moon represents planetary awarenss-- the picture of earth from the moon, that icon thats so often bandied about as the moment humanity became aware of our unity. the moon gives us a place to stand and see the whole earth as one being of which we are a part. the sun is the analagous solar unity, but also the unity of all stars and galaxies in an energy net, and the unity of energy and mind.

one more thing before out of time. the debate of the order of the arcana (ex crowley vs mathers or whatever on the position of strength and justice) is probably an attempt to rewrite history. i can see strength as the strength of the barbarians who overthrew rome. i can see justice as the moral awareness developed by humans, maybe more important than the power.

i think the Star

represents a changing awareness resulting from the events of the 20th century, however, it's beyond a consideration of extra-terrestrial life.

it's a shift from Heliocentrism to relativity. Instead of our Sun being the centre of our symbol system, it is one among many.

funny thing about the universe, no 1 of anything, no 2 the same.

Crowley's remapping of the tarot & tree of life (from what bits I've gleaned) seem to be trying to take the images of the system and align them so that the symbolism creates an eloquent narrative.

at least, that's what I would do.

if the major arcana represent a certain narrative for time,

how does it compare with:
I-Ching (64)
Mayan day-glyphs (20)
astrological houses (12)
days of the week (7)
months of the year (12)
constellations (13-15 cross the ecliptic)?

progressions are narratives. what is the story of history? what are we trying to tell ourselves?
what are we trying to remember?
