Spiral Tribe in the area

A few years back I bumped into an old College friend, and we have remained in contact since. He has been involved with the Spiral Tribe since back in the day, and has been posting me various information, conspracies and research since. He is a lovely man, working on the outer reaches of reality and I hope that his work will come to fruition.
I remember the Spiral Tribe from the early 90's and was glad to be filled in about their continuing mission, since their move to Europe. I was wondering if other people remember them or were/are even members?

I was given these two sites to check:

God, Spiral Tribe. Saw them a couple of times in muddy fields. What a fantastic concept. And what a truly awful album they released. Just goes to show, some things shouldn't be committed to permanent record for posterity. Sometimes the memory is better.

I know, their music was terrible...

"This is the sound of techno..."

Urgh.

Spiral Tribe: yeah a friend of a friend of mine was a member. Guy called Sebastian. Rich kid, like me.

Went to see them at an illegal rave in Glasgow's Shawfield Industrial Estate.

Fuckin awful racket. Absolutely awful. This was the summer of 93, when I got my first real six string.

Spiral Tribe = why?

Yeah, I hung around on the fringes of their scene for a while around 90-91. Squat parties, Whirl-y-gig, Club Dog.

I never did like their music much, though. There seemed to be an awful lot of lofty ideals and big talk around while the reality I saw was squabbling over money, drugs and girls/boys - same old same old. I saw too many people from that time slide away from being politicised to being too munged out on drugs to do anything effective.

I had one friend from back then, don't know if he was actually a member of the Tribe or not but I actually loved his music: he made music under the name Earth Leakage Trip with a guy called Casper Pound. I understand he has now relocated to France and is now performing as Crystal Distortion, although I have not been in touch with him for a long time. I don't know if that is connected with the Spiral Tribe/Europe thing.

Now, I can't remember what it was, but I swear I used to own something by Earth Leakage Trip. Can you remember the names of any tunes? There's something on the fringes of memory that refuses to come out into the light....

No, no....don't worry - I've just called a friend and he's sorted it. Earth Leakage Trip released a tune going by the same name, didn't they? On Rising High? It was bloody good....

Yeah, they recorded a few tunes on Rising High and some with Moving Shadow.

there was one I liked that included the words "the windows are where the doors should be" - can't remember the name of that one - and another called "The Ice Cream Van from Hell".
