Mirror Mask - Labyrinth 2 or Neverwhere 2?

ONLY NICE THINGS

So, since I found myself accidentally in this flick, I'm beginning to get faintly interested in it. Neil Gaiman writing, Dave McKean directing, in what was originally envisaged as a sequel to Labyrinth. It has the potential to be the most awful, inept pile of shit ever created, although the casting of Gina McKee is a definite positive sign. Also, it may reveal whether Neverwhere was only a hideous failure due to budget and casting restrictions, and also whether working on Princess Mononoke has helped Gaiman to learn how to write dialogue.

Apparently this was previewed or trailered or something at ComiCon, along with Batman: Dead Good, no Honest - has anyone heard further report of it?

Well, after you mentioned your entrapment, I went a-ferreting, but aside from IMDB.com, I didn't find out much more.

Do any of you nice people know if there is any site on the net where you can view any of McKeans
other short films especially Neon. I would love to know.

thanks for posting this Haus. It sounds great. A low budget always spells quality for me.

you can go here and see images from his motion work and also some clips, but not many. There was a site that had a clip from The Week Before, but I can't remember what that was. [neon]...i've haven't seen hide nor hair of that ever...

hopefully, he will find time in his MirrorMask schedule to FINALLY do the much talked about and almost completed DVD of his motion work sometime soon...at various stages it has been forthcoming and near completion....like most McKean projects you hear about.

Another thread here. I thought it was visually stunning, but the plot left quite a bit to be desired. The sound quality at the start was also awful. I think it'll do very well among those who have never heard of Gaiman or McKean, but I'm going to have to reluctantly agree that Gaiman's occasional "throw lots of ideas and see what sticks" approach is in evidence, and it could have done with a touch more refining. Still, it is bloody gorgeous.

Just in case anyone's interested, this is showing at the London Film Festival. Tickets went on sale this morning and seem to be selling out pretty quickly. If you're interested, I'd give them a call asap.
