Maybe it's the weather...

We're The Great Old Ones Now

Is anyone else finding the day a massive comedown? Rain, rain, rain...

Although it could be the fact that I woke this morning to a panicked phonecall from my accountant, who roused me from unrestful slumbers in which I was dreaming about betrayal and anguish.

Of course, I cheered myself up by reading another few pages of Kaddish. Which is about mourning.

Please tell me it's going to be nice tomorrow.

Nope, I'm really enjoying myself. There are 7 of us in the office, everyone else has gone to Brighton and it's not too bad.

I am worried about tomorrow's weather though, I need it to be sunny.

Perhaps weather-related, but I'm feeling tense and skittish. May be forced to go for a long walk in an attempt to relax. Also attempting to balance invites to three parties tonight while mourning the fact that there are two tomorrow that I'll miss because of work. May just sod all the parties, get drunk and go to a club thus equally offending all yet ensuring that I have a good time. Nyah.

Damn, it's a hard life, so many parties and only one Cass...
I am also skittish, like a pony near a tiger. Maybe it's just tiredness, maybe the huge oppressive clouds ("heavy, black and pendulous" Rocky Horror. IIRC) and stifling heat and humidity.

Heh. Well it was all solved for me by the arrival of an old friend with news of her impending marriage - which I therefore had to go out and celebrate. I got to do as I desired while simultaneously fulfilling my social obligation trump card, w00t.

I was in a great mood yesterday, until the dog's barking woke me up from semi-sleep at 1.30am and suddenly everything looked like shite again and I came over all woe is me, boohoo, etc. Not helped by the victory for fuckwitbastardness that Cameron's BB4 win represents, or by the fact that after the grand finale of BB4 finished, Graham Norton decided to complete the effect by being a transphobic little shit. That is what I get for being desperate enough to watch V Graham Norton in the first place, I suppose.

I feel that watching early Red Dwarf would make everything seem that much better (perhaps because as much as I like Dave Lister, I am grateful that I am not him). Alas, I have not got access to any episodes. Am hoping that being glad I am not a contestant on the new series of Fame Academy will have the same effect.

Still on the BB4 tip, Cholister, it's a fucking sad day when the whole nation decides en masse that quite affable, utterly normal, undeniably boring streak of shite like Cameron deserves to win the country's largest personality test.

For a laugh, I think the last four should have been told to enter the pool for a final task, then electrocuted.

No, they should have been given gladiatorial weapons, thrown into a sandpit and forced to fight to the death. Except that means that Steph would have won.

Today looks nicer than yesterday... unfortunately, my house being the mess that it is, and me having spent yesterday in a drunken stupor, I can't remember where I put my meds... so it may get worse.

What is the weather like in the UK? I thought you were going through a heat wave.

Here it vacillates between being really hot and unbearably hot. Scorchio! as it were.

It's kind of weird at the moment. It's been fucking boiling for ages (ace) and then last night it absolutely pissed it down (also quite cool, cos I was in a beer garden with a roof). Now it's nice again.

Let me see... a come-down? Noooo. Iv just changed from lisbon to inverness. I have a feeling i will perish if and when i bring myself to get out this duvet.
But yes, there was indeed between really hot and unbearably hot. Especially crushed in a field with 26000 others. Sweaty others, if i may add. Scorchio, plus people passing out all over the shop. Luckily the majority were shortasses, so i got air only used 10000 times and stayed consious.
