Elijah was in ABQ, which is in the same *region* as Phoenix... which is more than I can say for Wyoming.
I had a friend who worked as a cook for a summer at a dude ranch in Wyoming. It snowed there. In June. That's nuts.
I have friends involved in the Mesa, Az. slam poetry scene, so if you need to get out and see some performance poetry stuff, I can set something up. (Note: Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix are all basically the same city.)
How're you getting from Phoenix to Wyo.? It's a bit of a drive - 660 miles from Phoenix to Cheyenne as the crow flies.
OK, Phoenix is on the map. The wiggly line at the top left of Arizona is where the Grand Canyon is. You see Denver? That's (I'm pretty sure) the highest US city above sea level. And I think it's toward the opposite side of the Rockies from Phoenix.
Like, here's an elevation map of the same area:
It'll be scenic, but the terrain can be challenging.
(Of course, I would say that because I'm from the flat, flat swamps.)
Wyoming is not a densely populated state, and is not urban in the slightest. Cheyenne's population is around 53,000. And that's the big city. |
